We picked up the trail from Main St in Pepperhill and power walked 5 miles to Groton Center. So it was a very nice 10 mile out and back hike on a gorgeous New England fall day. The paved path was flat and wide. Being late October it was covered in fallen leaves and pine needles. But they posed no real hazard. The scenery was stunning with the Nahua River running alongside for the first mile then gorgeous woods followed by some rolling farmland in Groton. For a Monday afternoon it was busier than I expected. Many bicyclists on the trail, most of whom would let us know when they were approaching and passing. it was a very nice hike.

Extremely overgrown trail. Looked very neglected. Really no access for the dogs to the water! River banking very steep. Very disappointed.

easy walking beautiful surroundings. many cyclists, but only a few polite enough to let you know they were coming. not too many smiling people, most grumpy enough not to even say hello. disappointing

Shepley Hill trails in Groton, MA. Nice walk in the woods, some hills Looks like former horse farm land, still has jumps set up on the trails.

Love this trail! Bike it every week now! Beautiful views, smooth surface - especially now that they just finished resurfacing the upper part near NH - no more bumps and roots!

It doesn't get better!

We happened to be in the area in July and decided to check this out as we had been hearing about it for years. We got there and had to use the port-a-potties. One had feces covering just about every surface and the other had not toilet paper, urine all over seat and no hand sanitizer...not a great start. We only were walking and it was very busy with people biking. The people that we encountered were not friendly and we almost got hit a few times by people who were biking behind us and didn't notify us they were coming. The area was beautiful where we did walk (about an hour). We really had high expectations after all we had heard about this place, but I doubt we will ever go back.

Don't bother walking here. Unfortunately too many rude bicyclist that can't be bothered with saying 3 words 'on your left/right'. About half that passed us didn't say anything. One almost hitting us because there were bikes heading towards us and she couldn't pass. Thank you to the ones that did. Otherwise path was paved, nice and clean.

Beautiful trail, meadows, marshes and horse farms. Nice lush woodlands. Very pleasant.

my favorite trail for biking, people are very friendly, beautiful scenery

Lots of variety to see. Water, fields, wetlands, towns, saw bunnies one time. Can be crowded on weekends, or for those bikers who really like to zoom past everyone. Places to stop for food or ice cream.

Best trail near me, but there are a lot of frost heaves and bumps. Ouch!
