Nice, easy trail for biking. Mostly flat and all paved. Starts out at Cross Point towers in lowell provides a pleasant, mostly shaded ride with a lake/beach along the way. Bring a lunch and relax at the picnic tables, or grab a slice of pizza at Zesty’s along the way in Chelmsford.

Walk on this everyday...love it!

Trail is in excellent condition. Great views. Would rate higher, but we forgot bug spray.

Wear bug spray!!!

Great place for a casual hike. No steep inclines. Family friendly. Beautiful scenery

My favorite for a sunset walk. Gets busy so plan for that ☺️☺️

This trail is a godsend for training for my half marathon near the workplace.

One of my favorite destination whenever I am in the city. The Longfellow bridge has been renovated now so it's a nice scenic river walk. I enjoyed the Charles River Esplanade area the most and there is a nice children's playground that kids will enjoy. I also enjoy watching all the sail boats on the Charles River and all the busy tour duck boats.

The sunset from here is absolutely spectacular as I've seen it many times. The Storrow Drive side is definitely the more scenic side but the Memorial Drive side is pretty good as well. In the evening, you will generally find plenty of photographers doing long exposure photography of Boston's skyline.

Such a beautiful trail. Nice and smooth and wide. Very well marked road crossings. Bike pull offs with benches. A couple nice ice cream and food places along the road in the Northampton section. We continues onto the Manhan section to Look Park in Florence. This trail was narrower and a rougher surface and no benches that we noticed. Look Park was beautiful. Our total ride was 31.1 miles round trip

Good trail options for any time of year. The loop is nice, with plenty of wildlife sightings- the kids spotted frogs, birds, snakes, and signs of foxes and skunks. Good information along the trail about the types of animals found in that habitat which gave the kids something to look out for besides rocks and trees. Can be a short hike around the frog pond or a longer one through enchanted forest and the meadow. Good for a day hike nearby.

Nice easy walk, beautiful area. Was there on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded. People were nice and courteous. It was fun to learn as we walked! Brought my pup with me but kept him on leash, he had fun exploring the trail as well. Will definitely be back again.

Bruce Freeman rail trail is now expanded into Acton. The description should be updated to inform walkers and cyclists the features of the full rail trail. The new section called Phase 2 begins in Westford at Rt. 27. The new section includes Westford, Carlisle and Acton. The new section has mile markers and I believe better warning lights at the crossings. There is a bridge that crosses Rt. 2. Many beautiful upgrades to the new section which is all paved as is the first phase. Many benches. There is a winding section that is pretty fun to ride on that is parallel to some businesses. There is a beautiful engraved granite marker pointing you to which direction to continue with miles listed to the towns on the rail trail. At this marker, the rail trail turns toward Acton or you can ride into a park.

Love this trail! Bike it every week now! Beautiful views, smooth surface - especially now that they just finished resurfacing the upper part near NH - no more bumps and roots!

One of my favorite spots. Beautiful variation in terrain. Other people on trail but does not feel crowded.

I was in Boston for a conference and looking for a nice, easy trail to ride a rented bicycle. This was a perfect little excursion. It was very easy to get to, the trail is paved, and there are accessible beach areas. There are also public restrooms and a snack bar. Very nice!

Easy hike through the trails adjoining this section in the Mass Audubon Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center. The late afternoon had us swatting at the mosquitos, but offered more chipmunk sightings than we could count, a few robins, a couple of butterflies, and an AMAZING encounter with a red tailed hawk hunting among the old stone walls near the southern end of the Enchanted Forest trail.

Totally accessible by chair. Good for running and walking. Very well kept trail-- forest feels almost tropical and completely enclosed. Bring your binoculars for birdwatching and your camera to remember the cute turtles in the swamps!

A great walk through the swamp. Water and restrooms available at the trailhead. Bring bug dope.

Amazing view , great easy hike for young families to still enjoy a great view.

Very easy walk for a lazy walker. Great for biking and for the family great for kids to explore. Perfect easy trail for family.

Pretty good easy walk

Good for a early morning walk, properly marked trails and maps. Lots of bugs and insects, beautiful trees. Meadow wasn't that big as I expected.

absoultely have never been but i love the pictures

We had a great time on the network of trails. We saw a hawk, a snake and even one of the beavers!
