I ran this trail in preparation for a 1/2 marathon trail run. With close to 1,000 feet elevation gain, it is good practice for uphill (glutes) and downhill (quads) technique. Mostly shaded, it is a comfortable run. There are some sections that are fairly rocky so be prepared for your ankles to be a bit sore. You will have to park at the bottom of Quaker Hill and have someone pick you up at the Woodstock Inn.

Easy walk, pretty sights, very doable in a couple hours. The church and dam are worth going to the end of the trail! The leaves falling off the trees made a nice Fall aesthetic.

Great trail! Lots of off shot paths up to the ruins of the town for more of a challenge or down to the river for some peace. Bring bug spray! We were eaten up by bugs by the damn!!

This was a good trail to hike. The stone church is a little off the main trail but it made for a nice adventure to find.

This trail/road is one of our family favorites! The app suggests its moderate but I would suggest it’s easy at best. Since it’s the old Albertson Rd, there are a lot of paved areas and it is relatively flat. It’s a great trail for dogs and families with small kids. If you’re lucky enough, you may be able to spot some herring, people fishing, rock climbing and (lazy river) tubing. There are great spots for dogs to swim or to catch some rays and have lunch on big boulders in the river.

Beautiful and quiet trail with peaceful river. A little bit muddy, but nothing too significant.

Fairly easy trail, not many views along the way fairly dense woods. When you arrive the house you pass has a sign that says keep left and it got me a tad lost. It is not a hard left just don't walk directly through their driveway. Go slightly left as to walk through the dirt directly next to their driveway then make a right back onto what looks like their property you will see a metal fence.go around that post and you've found the trail! Will do again and will take pictures of how to actually find the trail

Perfect hike for a hot day since the trail is shaded and runs next to the Patapsco river. We saw three deer, two red foxes, a bunch of ducks and squirrels and some type of crane (a great blue heron maybe?). Anyhow, way more wildlife than we thought we'd see for this one hour hike. Highly recommended it if you are in the area

This is an easy trail starting at a private home off Alberton road. The trail is an old road that ran through the town of Daniels, which (what was left of it) was destroyed by Hurricane Agnes in 1972. Ther are two church ruins in the 2.5 mile stretch, with St. Stanislaus being off the main trail and up a hill into the woods. It was a church that had been struck by lightning and burned in 1926 and had not received the funds to be rebuilt. There is a small abandoned cemetery there as well. It is a beautiful place with the earth reclaiming most of the building. Further down the easy trail is a much more noticeable Pentecostal church, in sight of Daniels Dam. Along this route are several old vehicle ruins, abandoned due to the great flood after Agnes. If the weather is warm, wading/swimming and fishing are allowed in the area.

This trail connects to a much longer set of trails through Patapsco that wind through Woodstock and up to McKeldin area, if you are interested in taking a long day hike.

Really neat piece of history along here, Wikipedia has some great info on Elkton/Alberton/Daniels and the Mill that existed before the ghost town.

Easy, flat terrain with some neat ruins if you wander a bit off the trail.

Flat, easy, and mostly paved trail along the river. Can take an access road to an abandoned church ruin, old cars, and an old cemetery. Saw a herd of deer crossing the river. Easy out and back trail with the dam at the end. Not much parking space in the small lot - fits maybe 6 to 8 cars.

Easy, flat and mostly paved trail that runs alongside the Patapsco River. It does connect to other trails within the park which would provide more interest in terms of scenery and elevation of terrain, however I didn't have time to explore them. I rate this particular trail four stars because of the ruins located nearby within the park. The St. Stanislaus Kotska Catholic Church ruins are located on top of a hill and is not visible from the trail. There isn't a noticeable trail leading up to it, either. Just use your phone GPS to locate it and just hike your way up. Didn't see the cemetery, but will check it out when I return.

The road is badly deteriorated in places with rocks, mud and sandy areas. It was borderline for my Hybrid so I'd recommend for Mountain Bikes. There is a private home at the trail head, please respect their property and privacy.
