Not too tough. White Rocks overlook was great. Mosquitoes out & fairly wet and muddy in spots.

Great hike and view. Early morning nice and quiet but traffic picked up by 10. There’s quite a bit of climb and rocks. Great workout.

Hike wasn’t really that hard. The most challenging part is the option climb down and back up from the springs.

Nice hike with a decent elevation gain. Parking at Old South Mountain Inn is free as long as you park in the designated area. There's also a small parking lot at the trail's intersection with Reno Monument Rd if you want to make the hike a little shorter or avoid the campground.

Hard for the average joe! Which we are ! We kept going past the white rock over look . Did 8.3 miles

stayed at rocky run shelter area at ridge campsites, little over 2miles from trailhead.

Decent trail, however trails are not well identifiable.

Good trail; would go again. Enjoyed view at White Rocks overlook. Most of the hike at a moderate level except for the hike out from the cabin and the short 2/10 mile section mentioned in the description.

I love the trail and the Nature center is one of the best that I've been too! Super cool place!

Catoctin Creek Park is classic Frederick County, Maryland. It's the park where rolling farmland meets the woods. Hiking near the creek you may get a chance encounter with more rare wildlife, such as wild turkeys, minks, beaver, and bald eagles. Climb the hillsides and you get a sweeping vista of neighboring farms. The park also has a Nature Center that is free and open to the public Tuesday through Sunday. This is definitely one of Frederick County's lesser-known gems!
