This loop of Salem State Forest begins at a well marked (mostly shaded) parking area directly on Indian Bridge Rd. It has enough parking for about 10 vehicles. If full, you could park on the shoulder of Indian Bridge Rd. This trail is predominately comprised of fire roads. Crushed concrete has been spread on several sections of the road for easy passage when wet. This might be tough on a horse, so be wary. Be sure to bring some bug spray, and some of the fire roads can hold puddles for a while (but they are easy to walk around). There are many interconnecting trails and roads to shorten or extend this hike.Show more
