Rackliffe House Trail loop is an easy hike through woods and along the Bay with views of the Verrazano Bridge, Assateague Island, and the Rackliffe House. Trail begins at the rear of the Assateague National Park visitors center and is pretty well marked. The trail is very easy but recommend bringing bug spray as sections bypass marsh areas with ample mosquitoes. At approximately the 1 mile point the marker directs you to the right to skirt the park maintenance yard. Stay along the tree line to find the trail marker again. This is a very enjoyable short hike. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on leash.Show more
