Muddy in spots! Great trail though, definitely a must-do!

Great hike today! The colors are changing, the river looks calm, and the corn is still up! Easy hike! Would be great for kids or older dogs. We took our two pups and they loved all the smells. We saw one hiking group, one horse group, and one mountain biker. Well maintained- lots of trails so if you are doing a particular loop make sure you have your map or phone! Otherwise just explore to your liking!

First time on this trail. Wide sandy/ clay surface traversing corn fields. Wooded portion tightens up, but good flow with mild ascents and descents. I’m new to MTB so I found it a good training track and great heart pumping action.

I hiked this for the first time in 2 years on a Saturday in August. I do this hike every few years on average because it’s decently far from me, but I love it this time of year when the corn fields are high! (one year I went either late August or early September and many were sadly already cut down). This is one of my favorite Maryland hikes! When I hike this, I follow the white trail almost to its end, so further than where the turn is on this version. It’s decently easy to figure out the various trails around here. Pros: mix of fields/meadows/woods/river, good mix of elevation, never been crowded when I’ve done it (I barely pass other people each time), quiet, wildlife, never very overgrown in summer (especially compared to many other local hikes), love the nature quotes scattered throughout! (though some are now missing, sadly), mostly shaded aside from some spots amongst the fields, not nearly as buggy as many other local trails Cons: muddy in spots, horse poop

Well marked, pretty in stretches with all the fern but extremely muddy in sections, almost unwalkable. Sections where horses are also allowed were a mess. Would rate more Easy than Moderate

A good short trail. A lot of horse manure and some areas are torn up from the horses but everyone is nice on the trail.

Awesome hike, will definitely go again. all train map was easy to use until the end, the trail took you out to an open field with no markings. I just back tracked to where the red trail met up with white trail and it took you back to parking lot. I would recommend water proof shoes as it was quite muddy in spots.

Nice easy loop. Extremely muddy, you'll want waterproof shoes or boots.

Quiet, and beautiful. Loved the hike and variations of scenery. was super lush and the smells were amazing during our misty spring hike.

Great location for trail running. Many trails, they can get confusing. Park is very well maintained. Always clean and freshly mowed. The trails do have some erosion and exposed roots. Run carefully. Lots of hills of varying elevations and some nice flat stretches. All in all a great place for hiking, biking, running, and horseback riding.

A wonderful 1200 acre area highlighting the Little Gunpowder Falls as it transects the Piedmont. Well maintained trails, blazes are apparent but trail intersections can sometimes be confusing. GO WHEN THE LEAVES ARE DOWN! A totally different experience as the sight-lines extend considerably in the winter. Also, the human traffic is considerably less. The Harford Co. side of the river (white trail) is exposed to the sun, but the ridge blocks the north wind. Very comfortable on a sunny winter day. Many trail options. Try it.

Wonderful horseback riding trails. Can be a little confusing which turns to take. I would follow previously mapped out trail so you don’t get lost. There are places for horses to drink on little gunpowder trail. I recommend the Boundry trail, Pond loop, and little gunpowder trail. Going back to map out more. The entire Boundry Trail is a two hour ride at the walk.

We took a den of Cub Scouts (10 boys), three parents and two siblings on a 3 mile hike. Great, easy trail for kids and a lot of variety. This is a great family trail!

Took a Den of Cub Scouts on this trail, and they did great. Started out at the parking lot on the Harford County side, took the blue and white trails following the river. There are lot of opportunities for conservation projects on these trails. We also used this as an education of multiple types of people using the trail. We did run across a horse and the boys were able to practice what they learned.

This is a fantastic place to hike and just go and relax- no worries of getting lost with the signage. I recommend the White or the Blue trails as they are longer and there is so much to see.

I love running the Sweet Air trails. Always a good mix of foliage, terrain, and views. The park is very large, so it's easy to feel like you're in the middle of nowhere very fast - good escape for me! I take my kids and my dog here when we want to do a quick hike, and recommend these trails to everyone. Sadly, many don't even know this park exists! My only beef is that the locals with horses trash parts of the trail that are dedicated to hiking only. It also would be nice if the horse crowd did some trail maintenance every so often. The Balto county side is pretty much a mudhole with massive hoof marks year round. Also, heads-up the Balto county side is more overgrown and not as well marked.

Good trail. The part I started on took me through a massive corn field. That was pretty cool. There are quite a few different options to hike in this area. I did the yellow loop, red, and orange loop. Didn't try the boundary trail since I was running out of daylight. Maybe next time. Not too crowded.
