Date hiked 12/1/2018
Trials well maintained no crampons or snowshoes needed as of that day. Minimal snow, easy terrain for dogs so just steep for a good mile or so of the hike. If there was more snow, would highly reccomend crampons for safety. Overall good hike and good trainer if you plan on moving onto some bigger mountains. Oh, the view isnt too bad either :)

amazing hike... 1 of my favorites... beautiful fall day too... couldnt ask for a better hike

great trail, 2 adults, 2 kids (9&11), one dog. flattish to start, then pretty steep up the east side of the mtn. great views in several parts.

Great trail, shady and picturesque. Fantastic for teens and dogs.

Fun trail with some challenging sections. You are at the top once you get to the tower!

Loved the loop just the right amount of work.

A good intermediate hike. The trail blazes/cairns are a little sparse at the top of the mountain but otherwise it’s well marked. We took our time, as our 4.9 year old was attempting to hike it all on her own, but we made it there and back in about 3.5 hours. Beautiful views from the ridge to the summit.

great we'll marked trail. Don't let the first Mike fool you. The second mile will kick your butt. Have lunch at the top. Plenty of parking

Moderate hike. First half pretty tame. Second half elevation kicks in. Beautiful views! Be sure to go to the tip top with the tower. So beautiful! And blueberries to boot!

I would rate this as moderate, not hard. Had great views from the top, trail was a little difficult to follow at the top. Took 2.5 hours total, with taking time at the top for lunch.

A moderate hike that was very fun. Beautiful views from two different sides at the top of lakes and the ocean. It took about 2.5 hours to the summit and back.

Was by far one more f the prettiest hikes in the Camden Hills area. Shady, and lots of birds singing . I’m slow and it did take a couple hours for me to get to the top. And coming back took two hours too. Totally recommend!!

This hike was a great trip! I thought the trail was very well marked, but, it was a pretty steep climb to the top after the first mile or so.

Snowshoed to the summit from the George's Highland trail great hike get out there!

easy, maybe slightly moderate.

A great aggressive climb with many switchbacks that help attain elevation with many scenic outlooks. The "up" worked my legs and lungs however coming down really taxed my 69 year old knees. The whole hike, with a generous 20" break at the summit, took approximately 2 1/4 hours.

One of my new favorites. A great combination of challenges and rewards. Multiple, what I called "pseudo-summits", that give you a variety of views and places to stop for a beautiful lunch. Views of area lakes, mountains, and the nearby ocean.

I hiked the Ragged Mountain loop via Camden Snow Bowl. I found it to be an easy hike, starting out wide and clear on snow mobile trails. It slowly narrowed into a small foot path, winding through the forest, into some beautiful meadows and back down around the mountain. Halfway through the hike I wished I hadn't forgot my insect repellent! I would advise something to deter the bugs, a hat or bandana. I also noticed some poison ivy close to the trail, long pants would be a safe bet. The trails are pretty well marked and the info signs are well stocked with free maps. I hiked from blue to orange and back to blue. It was about 6 miles and took me about 2 hours. Overall a really nice walk through the woods :)

The trail at the tip was not well marked. Ended up running into the right trial.

This is one of the best maintained trails in the area. A lot of the path was cleared of debris, and the blue markers were freshly painted.

The first 1.5 mile is fairly flat before the trail goes right up the mountain. This could give less able hikers a 3 mile loop for about a 1hr woodland walk.

The views from near the top are worth the climb. There are quite a few different picturesque spots that you'll get to before the very top. There were two hawks circling the mountain the whole time I was there.

Note: once you get to the last .2 mile from the top (where it becomes mostly rocks), start paying attention to the environment as the blue markers almost completely disappear, making it hard to find the trail back down if you weren't paying attention.
