beautiful trail! hiked with my dog, moderate describes this trail well!! I will be hiking this trail again!

Trail was moderate to difficult and a test of mental and physical endurance. We had inexperienced hikers in our group so we took the Saddle Trail up and back to Baxter Peak. Unfortunately I was not able to cross the Knifes Edge. We decided to stay as a group and everyone made it up and back thanks to our team leader Doug Hunt an experienced AT guide Took us round trip 12 hours. Highly recommend this hike. A memory for the history books

great hike. stunning views. not overly difficult. a must do if you are In town

One of the best hikes in the southern Maine area! It’s steep from the very start but levels out a little bit as you get closer to the peak. I’d call the trail moderate but it was definitely a workout! Beautiful, beautiful views at the top. The abundance of blueberries as we approached the peak was a plus.

Such a fun hike! Has a great rock scramble near the peak. Not a long hike but pretty steep in some parts. Definitely worth the climb.

Spectacular views. Easy walk & fun to jump from rock to rock!

A nice hike if you're looking for something quick but worthwhile. The hike is logically divided into three sections: The first, along the pond, is almost entirely flat. After the pond you head straight uphill for 15-20 minutes of solid climbing until you emerge onto the exposed rock and excellent views of the pond and surrounding region. Then it's a gently undulating route to the "summit," although it's a little unclear where the exact summit is. There is a rock cairn, but it's neither on the highest point, nor the point where Garmin thinks the summit should be (which also is not the highest point). I looked around on what appeared to be the high ground for a USGS marker, but with no luck. There were abundant wild blueberries when I did the trail (late July). Note that there are a few crisscrossing and intersecting trails, making it quite easy to get off track, even in the summertime, so pay attention. I was glad to have my GPS with me so I could tell which fork to follow. And for what it's worth, my GPS registered 2.9 miles total, up and back.

Awesome hike. The top of the loop trail is pretty intense but so worth it.
Views are spectacular from the top.

Beautiful views!

We hiked up the orange trail. It was a lot of stairs and bouldering. Great views on top. The hike down blue trail was a walk in the woods

This is a five star loop, but in no way is the Precipice Trail section moderate and dog friendly. It is a half mile scramble up exposed ledges using iron rungs and handrails.

Super short hike right behind the Dollar General. The trail isn't very well marked, but just walk towards the small bald and you'll be able to get to the top. Did this hike in the rain and expected it to be much more slippery than it was, so that's a plus! The sculpture at the top is very cool, as were the views-- definitely worth the 10 minutes it takes to walk up to the top.

Great trail with a nice leisure walk to South Bubble mountain. Fun scramble with great views as you continue to reach the summit. don't forget to go towards to right near the top to see the big boulder by the cliff!

Short ans fun hike with easy parking. It's not nearly as scary as people made it sound, the paths are plenty wide so there's really nothing to worry about.

Fun quick hike up. Really enjoyed the view enroute to the top. Remember the trail is a loop so you don’t have to descend from the cliff side.

Plenty of parking. Only 2.4 miles, but a very good work out View from summit was blocked by trees, but the view from slightly below summit was spectacular.

A good intermediate hike. The trail blazes/cairns are a little sparse at the top of the mountain but otherwise it’s well marked. We took our time, as our 4.9 year old was attempting to hike it all on her own, but we made it there and back in about 3.5 hours. Beautiful views from the ridge to the summit.

Great hike for my wife to conquer her fear of heights. Great view from top.

Great trail. One of my favorites. There are now five campsites because of increased demand. The two new sites are a mile and a mile and a half prior to the original three via the coastal trail. We camped at the new site at Long Cove.

my children and I loved this walk! the wiggly bridge was fun for them to run across, and I'd you go at low tide you can search for treasures off the jetty!

The 360 degree view at the top is nothing short of AMAZING! Starts out with some steeps, and there is a little scrambling at the top, but all in all well worth the time spent. Recommend this hike.

Enjoy scenic views. From Jordan pond house, the left half of the lake features wooden walkways followed by a rocky trail. The right side of the lake is a natural sandy trail.

on The Bowl Trail

Make sure you take the bowl trail all the way up to the beehive. It’s not as scary as the beehive trail but its still a challenge.

it is more of a walk and is close to home .Deering pond is nice at sunset.

Very easy walk but a nice one. Great park, great view, only moderately buggy on July 9.

Great hike

I did this in the 50's the end of Feb, no snow on the ground. then March hit. the bal. rock is cool.

Hiked this route today with my dog. big Boulder scramble in the gorge! I only helped him twice. Athletic dogs should be able to do this without issue. Counter clockwise around the loop was the best choice for me. incredible views of Cadillac cliffs from the A Murray Trail.

We had a beautiful hike on this trail today. Following the advice of other reviewers, we hiked St S first and then Acadia. Shortly after you climb to the summit of St. S you are rewarded with amazing views of Sommes Sound. There is a good bit of boulder climbing on the way up to Acadia Mountain. We spent over 3 hours on the trail enjoying the views. By noon, there were a lot of people on the Acadia Mountain trail. If you want to a peaceful hike, go early in the morning!
