Very peaceful. Hiked over 6 miles by starting at the Head of Tide Park. Most of the trail was well marked but there were a few places that the trail was hard to follow. Bugs were minimal here

Vary peaceful

Not much of a hike.. And the quarry a butt Crooker construction so you are hearing trucks go by... not peaceful ..

I was trying to find the Cathance River Trail and my GPS took us to the Quarry Loop instead , it was a nice walk I liked the Marsh and a lot of cool rocks and black Mica

Lovely trail along the rushing river

A once great swimming hole. Still beautiful scenes but the water is very dirty with a lot of rubbish. The walk itself is fun, but a lot of loose gravel and stone can present a challenge to the unaware. Not maintained and some areas are tricky to ascend/descend. Overall the views make it a worthwhile stop if your in the area can easily be done along with the Cathance river trail, about 1/2 mile apart.

Great walk wit some minor rock scrambling. Plenty of space to have a picnic lunch and multiple benches to rest and observe. Took me less than 40 minutes with a lit of photo taking. Easy to find and follow. Great little escape for a quick walk on lunch etc.

Beautiful river walking, a little bit of a hike… Was absolutely beautiful for the fact that you walk right alongside the river for a majority of the track, and you get to see all sorts of wildlife and beautiful habitat

hard to find the public parking for "hikers" in the winter. Parked in the ecology center parking spots instead. Icy in spots but surprisingly accessible given the snow we've had.

We did this trail today for the second time. There are several trails, we did a little over 4 miles. Very nice trails, easy and well maintained.

The first time we did the trail it was in the middle of the summer and we were in a drought. The water was very low and we were able to climb out onto the rocks in the river. Today, after some rains, it was a different trail - walking along rapids, it was a different trail! Both times were fun, but I suggest going in different weathers!

We also did the Heath loop trail today, which is a super easy, flat trail with some bog bridges, around a mile. Would be a great trail for kids!

The parking lot is TINY with no street parking allowed. We tried the trail a couple weeks ago, and there were no spots, so if you want to go, start early.

Fun trails and not very difficult, but can be fun. Not one of my faves, but I'm willing to give it another shot in the spring!

There are a variety of different trials located at "the highlands" retirement center and a lot of them connect to each other so you can easily make your hike longer. They are owned by the cathance river nature preserve. They are all well marked, easy trails with nice scenic views of streams, ponds and quarys. There are a few benches and picnic tables you might find along the trail. Great picnic spots. They did have a sign that said no pets. They have an ecology center there as well.
