Home of the national phenomenon of the ice disk. A must see.

A beautiful must see during the summer months. I go every year.

For a city trail. It is ok. Lots of mud on this trail. Very busy walk, with people, dogs and bikes.

Completed this hike on a warm day in late December. No crowds and no cars.

Pack an extra layer for the top. Prepare for wind and exposure. All in all its a very nice and beautiful little loop.

i can't consider this a hike... just a simple walk behind the stores along the river.

Marginal Way Walk from Perkins Cove, ME is a sweet little stroll for everyone.

Easy for all reminds me of Newport cliff walk.

Beautiful - did three loops if it. Well maintained.

This trail is off Hermit Island Campground. It is a hidden gem in the winter. There are several routes to different spots such as Lagoon Beach, Breakwater Point, And Sand Dune Beach. However, I have found that some of the best views are from Osprey Point (Credit to the gentlemen who gave me a map and informed me of it). Campsites are open during the certain parts of the year. Some of these campsites are literally on the ledge overlooking the ocean to the NW and SW. A bit of a caution to the wise: Watch for slick ice spots on certain parts of the trail. You can watch the lobster-men head back to harbor during certain times of the day and it is fun to watch.

OK place to run if you're looking to be around a lot of other people. Gravel trail with constant view of the cove. Parking can be difficult at peak times. The weekly 5k series is a fun race series there.

Loved hiking this in the snow 11/17/18. First real snow fall of the season. It was a great hike.

beautiful views of the fort Knox and the bridge

Beautiful walk. I was a little confused finding the trail.. you have to pass through “private way” to get to it. So glad I asked someone where the trail was, totally worth it!

Easy, well maintained walking path. There are lights along the path so it’s good for a evening walk too! Easy for a stroller or wheelchair to push on.

Long, flat trail through Scarborough Marsh. Nice place to picnic and walk the dogs.

Very nice, clean trail. Pretty level train, nice overlooks into the marshes. No charge to park but on a busy day, I imagine there would be a wait to park!

Easy hike, perfect for the dogs too! It was gorgeous fall when I went and it was perfect. We were the only ones there.

Great walk, lots of birds in the Marshes.

Very nice easy trails. Great for families or lone walkers. The improved roads are the easiest. The improved trails are very good but narrower with stumps and rocks sticking up. The unimproved trails are awesome if you want to be in the woods but they are rougher and more hilly. If going in hunting season blaze orange is a good idea as this borders many other hunting areas. There are other trail systems that link in so you can go all day. Met walkers and bikers. Very nice to have so close to town but still be able to be alone in the woods. Saw lots of birds, squirrels and chipmunks. Word of caution with dogs, there are a lot of porcupines in the area so be aware about them getting quilled.

Views are great, but really crowded. Tourist spot.

Easy, well maintained trail. They have some nice educational posts about the surrounding marshes and estuaries. I went on a weekday and it was still moderately busy, I imagine on weekends it gets crowded.

Nice short walk along the water with nice views of the bay.

loved biking this trail. highly recommend continuing and taking it to mackworth island!

Though it’s said to be a “must see”, parking is not clearly marked on the way up, the top lot is tourist mayhem. “Trail” is a walking path with lots of people. Good to check it off the list, but not our favorite spot.

Quite the scenic walk in autumn. It’s closed for the season, but definitely worth checking out!

Fun experience! Just be aware that it’s closing down for season on October 13th.
