This is a favorite walk for us and our dog. The carriage road loop has some inclines but is made easy by the road surface. This map says the loop is 2.2 miles but it is more than that. I’ve been told about 3.5. Most sections have good shade. Bring water! There are many trails that cut through the woods that will make it more like hiking due to uneven surfaces (roots, rocks, etc) and steeper climbs. Trail markers can be elusive. Dogs are free to be off leash. It’s a wonderful place. Parking at the main gate is very limited. There is a new upper lot than can be used.

Nice hike. Perfect for beginners, kids, dogs. It's pretty quiet for Acadia, only saw 2 others using the trail. There's also some options to make it longer if you want more.

Not “easy”. More like moderate. Nice views at top

Nice little hike, we were the only people on the trail early in the morning.

Pretty easy hike with decent views on clear days. Parking is usually no issue at the trailhead shown here.

Great off leash place for your dog! Beautiful views, and great trails!

The trail has a spectacular view of the Bubble Mountains and Jordan lake, especially in Autumn. It is an easy nature trail with several viewing spots.

Nice hike. We parked at the Wildwood Stables and took the trail south. Great views at the top. Agree with others that you can lose the trail crossing the carriage road. We continued on to the Lower Day Mtn, Hunter Cliff Tr, the Beach Tr and finally back via Hunters Brook Trail.

Awsome place to take the dogs swimming, people and dogs always friendly! Just wish there was more trash cans around

Relatively easy hike that affords lovely views, up to and over the summit of Day Mountain.

Per earlier comments the trail was not well marketed as you crossed over the carriage road. The hike continued up about ~20 feet on the left as you crossed the carriage road that heads towards the Day Mtn summit.

Nice kid friendly hike, trail is not well marked where it crosses over the carriage road (we somehow missed one of the cross-over so ended up walking some of the carriage road) but isn't super strenuous to the peak, and a nice wooded trail down the decent on the other side. Walked back to the parking area by way of the carriage trail.

Nice moderate 0.8 miles hike from parking area on Rt 3 to the peak. Trail has portions that could be wet in spring but are covered with board walk. The most scenic overlook is before you get to summit. Trail crosses the carriage road several times. I recommend hiking stick or poles for the descent.
