Hunting season. I’d be sure that your 4-legged companions are wearing blaze orange. Nice walk, plenty variation in terrain. Passed a number of other dog walkers and a fellow along the wetland doing photography with some long glass.

Awesome, great for kids!

No Dogs ?????? Why not

Short, easy, & beautiful. Jack in the pulpits, blueberries, cranberries, birds, etc. So enjoyable!

Nice short trail to do with the kids. Although there was a lot of mud, there was accessibility to the entire trail.

Nice fall hike. However they take out the trail markers out of season so I took a photo of the trail network at the beginning of the trail and used it in conjunction with the AllTrails map/GPS. See attached photo taken by someone else.

Easy out and back. As others have said, the path is fairly narrow. The loop is more overgrown than I cared for, but still fairly easily navigable.

. Horton Woods, Saco: The variety in terrain kept things interesting; from rooty ground to wooden planks to smooth pathways, wetlands, hills, deep woods, open fields...all this in about a 3 hour loop. I thoroughly enjoyed the solitude & beauty of this well marked & maintained hike!

Beautiful but small falls very nice trails tho and quite a few of them definitely a nice place to explore

Very beautiful walk. This would also make a great, quick run. Sparse wildlife other than excessive numbers of chickadees, dragonflies, and grasshoppers. Biting insects were minimal. (September) Red pines, tamarack, and hemlock stands interspersed with patches of cedar and aspen.

A nice walk through the woods and along some wetlands and a brook. It’s one of the few moderate hikes in the area. Not too buggy but advise using spray. The parking area is not directly off of 112; take a private drive about 100 feet and then turn right into parking lot. There are several trails in this preserve (many are shortcuts) so make sure you know which trails you want. It is very well marked.

This was a nice little trail to run this morning. I was worried the boardwalk would be slippery to run on because it rained last night. They weren’t slippery and the trail was mostly puddle free.

Awesome short trail, with shallow water due to time of year. Small off shoots everywhere! Watch out for the giant bees nest by the zip line.

nice at beginning but if you go down to the bottom, muddy and trees down so cant loop around. Short loop trail at top thru woods but a little buggy.

This was a very easy walk though the heath. Most of the first and last .75 mile was on a very well-maintained boardwalk. At the end of the boardwalk, there was a short loop trail through the woods. There were many wild blueberry bushes along the boardwalk but most of the bushes within arms-length of the boardwalk had been picked clean. Virtually bug-free for the entire walk.

Great trail! Easy to follow and fun!

Easy trail and well maintained. Bring a bag to pick blueberries! The heath is covered in blueberry bushes the entire trip.

Really pretty walk. The beach was peaceful, not a ton of people there. A little buggy at times. Various prices to get in. Will definitely go again!

Peaceful! Nice walk to stroll and mosey. Beautiful scenery, lots of pine cones, needles and rolled up birch bark cover parts of the trail. Very pretty!

Easy to walk. A little narrow but still a beautiful trail.

This trail is inaccurately marked on here. Still a fun spot to explore and my 3 year daughter handled it fine. Not a simple loop trail though.

Wasn’t a good trail for me. The beginning was a lot of exposed roots. I didn’t feel like the trail was marked as well as it could have been. We must have gone the wrong way because it was only about a mile walk all around. Probably won’t make another trip here.

We did not get to see the entire trail. A man came in the trail with his dog, but let his dog roam free. I am allergic to dogs. And this dog was nosing all over us. We could no longer see the man. Only the dog. When we caught up to the man, I asked him to put his dog on a leash. He started swearing at me in front of my son. He accused me of spraying his dog with something. I did not. When I wanted him to pass, so my son and I could walk without him around, he refused to leave us alone. I hope nobody else has a similar experience on this trail with this man. He says he comes here all the time and nobody complains about his dog being off a leash.

Nice waterfall and stream crossing, trails could be marked better. But a nice hike overall.

I loved this trail!! It was a quick walk and I didn’t have any problems with bugs. The boardwalk was so cool! The loop trail was a bit narrow but not too bad. So many beautiful things to see here. Will definitely go again!

Easy stroll through the woods and the open area on boardwalk. The trail loop at the end needs some trimming back of plant growth but not bad.
