excellent hike with great view, dog friendly. last 900 feet or so are straight up!

I drove by the road that leads to the trail head had to turn around it looks like you’re someone’s driveway... Also looks like u are walking out through someone’s yard but you’ll see the road blocked off you can park on the left don’t block the home owners drive way...Nice trail...Dirt Road first few miles with a steady incline....stop at the spring and get some water taste delicious...white pipe comes out under road on right side across from white building which was a bottle plant in the 1800...all land on the right of the road is posted and own by Poland spring... Need to watch for trail sign it is up in a trees on your left hard to see, about 8 ft up... trail goes steadily up...ledges near top...slippery when wet beware...awesome views from top...enjoy

first 2.2 miles is rather ugly but once you step onto the actual trail it's nice...the incline was taxing on the legs but overall a good hike with lots of sights...came home with a bunch of blueberries and the kids had a ball!

Begins with 2.2 miles of backwoods roads, past an old spring house, to trailhead on left with sign up in a tree. About .9 to the summit for 360 views. On the way back, take the snowmobile trail on the LEFT to the reservoir... don’t miss it. Walk back down below the reservoir on a small road through a farmer’s field and buildings. Your car is to the right about 1/4 mile. Fun hike. Read Randall Welch’s book on the history of Mount Zircon and the medicinal spring.

Hiked this Saturday with my dog, got there at 7am summited in an 1hr and down in 45mins... views were breathtaking!!!!!!!! The first 2 miles brought you to an elevation of roughly 1,200ft, very moderate incline on an ATV trail. Almost immediately at the trailhead the last mile is a tough hike. A small number of flatter sections, but not many. Day was so beautiful - we saw the White Mtns with snow caps still. Very humbling. Beware of black flies, not bad while moving but I had to eat my food hiding under my sweatshirt they were swarming so badly.

We did this trail in April, when there was still quite a bit of snow on the mountain, which made the ascent pretty difficult, but it was our third mountain we’d hiked so it would be much easier now-especially in summer or fall! Views at the top were really great, so overall I’d say it’s not too difficult a hike. A bit hard to find the parking for this mountain though-even asked the locals and it took 2 stops and 4 people before we were finally pointed in the right direction. Overall a good hiking experience.

This hike is extremely boring and is gravel and dirt for the first 2.2 mile walk in to the actual trail. Poland springs has all of there signs up that say Please No Trespassing and they are EVERYWHERE! Just an unpleasant hike and wanted to save those who want something enjoyable to walk and hike on.

Most of the walk in is on a gravel road that gently meanders uphill. When you turn off onto the trail the climb intensifies and most of your elevation gain happens in this last half mile. Once on top the views are great and you can see several different wind power projects, a knocked over fire tower, and the Whites.
