Not sure why elevation is around 500 feet, definitely higher than that! We did this one last December, not too difficult of a hike, decent views. Not a soul around since it was December...good hike for those starting out in hiking.

A nice hike if you're looking for something quick but worthwhile. The hike is logically divided into three sections: The first, along the pond, is almost entirely flat. After the pond you head straight uphill for 15-20 minutes of solid climbing until you emerge onto the exposed rock and excellent views of the pond and surrounding region. Then it's a gently undulating route to the "summit," although it's a little unclear where the exact summit is. There is a rock cairn, but it's neither on the highest point, nor the point where Garmin thinks the summit should be (which also is not the highest point). I looked around on what appeared to be the high ground for a USGS marker, but with no luck. There were abundant wild blueberries when I did the trail (late July). Note that there are a few crisscrossing and intersecting trails, making it quite easy to get off track, even in the summertime, so pay attention. I was glad to have my GPS with me so I could tell which fork to follow. And for what it's worth, my GPS registered 2.9 miles total, up and back.

This was a great hike. Short but challenging. We hiked it with 4, 7 and 9 year old and they all did fantastic, even on the steep parts. The quarry at the top was neat and we found some really cool rocks. I think we actually missed the true summit, we went down to the left to the quarry and looking at the map after, I think the summit was up to the right. The views were still fantastic.

took this hike with 3 kids (ages 8-12) today. its a great hike but it does get tough at times while climbing up the mountain and suggest strong caution if you decide to bring children or are not a strong hiker. has great views from the top though and has a cute little spot to jump in and cool off while you relax before you head back down. :)

Excellent hike, at one point offers a fork in the road, going left takes you to a small pond and an easier hike that is flatter to the summit. The right takes you on a short but steep hike to the summit.

Beautiful views!

This is a challenging climb to some of the best views in the area. The initial walk around the pond is fairly easy to follow even though it is not marked. After the firepit site, follow the edge of the pond until you see the beginning of the uphill climb marked with two red disks on two trees. From there, follow the red disks to the open ledges at the top. An old granite quarry near the top provides a unique opportunity for rock hunting and photography.
