Excellent easy to moderate hike. 360-degree views from fire tower during peak autumn are stunning.

we took blueberry trail up. much longer and more difficult than was expected. with elevation to blueberry hill and then decent and climb back up to tower. not much of view unless you climb tower, then beautiful.took tower trail back. lots of rocks. All in all we enjoyed it and would go again.

There is plenty of parking if you start on Pleasant Street/ Railroad Avenue in Springvale.
I walk these trails on a regular basis. There’s a pretty nice network throughout Springvale.

Our first All Trails hike and review. This was challenging for this family of five, but no regrets. I would not recommend for anyone who is in very bad shape or with heart or severe back issues. We took 2.5 hours but I’m sure fitness hikers could do it in half that time. We parked on Route 102 and parked along the road near the small Echo Lake lot (toilet shack right there!). Trailhead lot is on east side of road. Beautiful views of Somes Sound. Even though you might be loathe to climb down to the waterside, take the well marked down and back trail just after the Man O War creek. We missed the MOW waterfall into the water, so research this so you don’t follow suit. The fire road trail back to the road was dull, but welcomingly easy.

Nice hike close to home

Beautiful, shaded trip through a thickly wooded area beside the pond. Lots of tree roots along the way.
Recommend trekking poles.

Amazing hike. Did the ledge trail around to the tower. Total of 5 miles. Great family fun hike.

Easy without much excitement - beautiful view at the end though

The wife and I enjoyed it, the kids (17 & 11) were a little bored.

Great trail, very flat, great for running, biking, or walking the dog.

This is a favorite walk for us and our dog. The carriage road loop has some inclines but is made easy by the road surface. This map says the loop is 2.2 miles but it is more than that. I’ve been told about 3.5. Most sections have good shade. Bring water! There are many trails that cut through the woods that will make it more like hiking due to uneven surfaces (roots, rocks, etc) and steeper climbs. Trail markers can be elusive. Dogs are free to be off leash. It’s a wonderful place. Parking at the main gate is very limited. There is a new upper lot than can be used.

on Aunt Betty Loop

This is a very easy walk or run on a carriage road. Most parts are wooded but there are some nice views of the lake and meadows. The part along the lake can get busy but the Aunt Betty part tends to be quiet. Arrive before 8am and you'll have the whole loop to yourself.

It was tough at the beginning. I didn’t like the stairs but I did love the trail.

nice trail... took two little ones (2 & 3 yr olds) up blueberry trail did not go up tower but enjoyed the walk

Love this trail, easy enough for kids, fun, quick to complete.

A very short and easy hike, with a 60 ft. fire tower at the top with a great view. It took about 1 hour to do the loop.

Definitely wear your hiking shoes on this trail. Has a nice little lookout area not that far into the hike. Trail was marked well

amazing hike; very fun with the rock scrambling. Not super challenging, but not easy either. Hiking back down the rocks was fantastic

This trail was quick and easy with a 2 year old on my back. The beginning is a little confusing with the bulldozer trails that are criss crossing right now. Once you’re past the first 1/4 mile it’s marked well and easy to meander through. The beach at the end is beautiful. Make sure to bring a towel!

Very nice beginner hike.

Peaceful and nicely maintained with lots of wildlife (including a rather surprised broad-winged hawk). Trails are well marked and there are maps at most major intersections but there are a few small connections/offshoots not shown on the map which can get confusing. Frequent intersections with snowmobile trails but those are unmarked and less maintained so it's easy to stay on the correct path. Connection to the Lowell trail system is a huge plus!

Finally checked this place out and love all the intertwining well marked trails I’ll be back for sure!!

Is there parking for this trail anywhere? The location AllTrails sends you to is a gate located on a fairly busy road, and there is no parking there. Every place where I could find access (since the trail crosses several streets) had no place to park. We actually never got to walk the trail.

A bit buggy, but the trails are well maintained. Good place to take an afternoon stroll.

Been on this trail what's with the map. Trail is nothing like the map. An yes we live in Maine but that still doesn't give you the right to just let your kids walk back alone in this trail......

Great hike to a cool wetland with tons of nests. Bring bug spray, the mosquitoes are relentless.
