Harpswell, Maine Map

Myself and my two boys ages 3 and 6 did this trail in a little over an hour (lots of spots to explore for little boys). Very easy hike! I forgot bug spray so we got some mosquito bites but no ticks. The spot by the water with the old boat house has a lot of lightweight flat rocks so we skipped rocks into the water. Will definitely come back. Maybe in the fall when the leaves are changing and during low tide so we can walk out onto the rocks more. Was high tide when we went.

Good trail beautiful views. I love the fairy house!!

Not a very interesting walk. Mostly through the woods. Views are mostly of tidal basins.
Not very special, especially disappointing for friends were visiting from out of town and wanted to see a little more of the coast on their hike.

Very sweet trail. Simple but has some climbs and nice views. Perfect for a semi beginner

Nice trail. We’ve done it a few times. Some people build fairy houses in this part of Harpswell. There are many fairy houses along the trail. There are some slippery places along the trail at the tops of the cliffs. Be careful near the edges.

Really nice trail with a good layout. Make sure you take insect repellent for the mosquitoes and deer flies. Beware of the ticks.

Very well marked trail. Very scenic from the lookouts. Waterfall was dried up...I will have to go again in the spring. Path is covered in tree roots so definitely wear your hiking shoes.

Beautiful views and an easy to moderate hike, though the tree roots really are something to contend with along the entire trail. Not a trail for sneakers. Plenty of parking (behind the Town Hall).

Nice moderate hike. Bug spray needed. Beautiful views from the cliff!

Loved it. Buggy till we got round to the waterside. Stunning views. Great hike for kids, but watch ‘em and pups near the cliffs.

Gorgeous at any time of year!

I loved this trail. The views over the river were beautiful and the fairy houses were adorable.

A nice hike but I would rate it easy, not moderate.

Just a little rugged. Very well marked. Wear mosquito repellent!! You will be eaten alive.

This is a nice trail, but I would definitely rate it an easy trail, not moderate. The last part of the trail ends at the transfer station and wasn't sure where to go from there. The trail was marked but I did find that a couple places where we went off the trail. It's not just a loop- has a bunch of overlooks before the cliff, some didn't offer much of a look, but he too was nice.

The water was so pretty and unique. I'll definitely go back.

Great trail with beautiful views! Well maintained and marked, though we did wander off trail a couple times without meaning to - there are many "subtrails" so really pay attention to the white blazes. Challenging ascent to the cliffs, but nothing too terrible (no ladders or ropes needed). Many roots along the entire trail so I recommend hiking boots over running shoes. My friend's dog had a blast; there are some spots with sharp drop-offs so bring a leash. I'll definitely hike this trail again.

Beautiful views on the Cliff Trail and great for dogs. I gave it three stars because I found it way too heavily trafficked. If you prefer hiking without tons of other people around, this place is NOT for you. We went on a Saturday around 11:00. Maybe weekdays or early mornings are more peaceful. I think the description of this trail should be changed to "heavily trafficked loop trail".

Fun walk in the woods. Dog friendly.

absolutely wonderful easy trail with very few steep areas, lovely for an afternoon walk with family and our dog.

Such fun trail to bring your pet and friends. only 30 minutes north or Yarmouth. I truly enjoyed my first experience out there and can't wait to check it out in the fall.

Not enough water view to make it worth the mosquitoes. There are also some steep parts made treacherous by pine needles. I'd be willing to try it again in early spring or late fall when there are fewer bugs around.

Unspoiled priceless views at cliffs edge

Beautiful scenery along the cliffs. Along the water most of the hike. Although their lots of exposed roots, you need to pay attention.

Beautiful hike, not too intense but great scenery
