Definitely wear your hiking shoes on this trail. Has a nice little lookout area not that far into the hike. Trail was marked well

We entered from the Blackstrap Hill Community Forest entrance this time and really enjoyed ourselves exploring. Lots of trails to choose from and very minimal bug activity. The look out has some great views from atop a big boulder. Plan on visiting again

Peaceful and nicely maintained with lots of wildlife (including a rather surprised broad-winged hawk). Trails are well marked and there are maps at most major intersections but there are a few small connections/offshoots not shown on the map which can get confusing. Frequent intersections with snowmobile trails but those are unmarked and less maintained so it's easy to stay on the correct path. Connection to the Lowell trail system is a huge plus!

Well marked trails right off 88 in Falmouth. Very popular place to walk dogs, watch for blow down trees!

Nice trail along the river. Great for dogs, plenty of spots to get in the water.

easy level terrain, nice for families to walk.

Lots of trails connect to the entrance White Trail. You could walk for miles and miles if you wanted. I wish people would clean up after their dogs more but maybe the piles are from the neighborhood dogs? I’d hate to have dogs not allowed because my Great Dane had a grand time today!

This is a wonderful urban trail system with well-marked trails of green, yellow, red and white markers. Portland Trails has done a great job marking and maintaining the trail (including pointing out what plants are invasive). There are several marked posts containing a number but I have yet to find what these numbers represent. Hopefully, someone will post what they represent. Dogs can run free once they get beyond 300 yards from the parking area.

great snowshoeing trail

A wonderful place for mountain biking with minimal elevation changes but lots of challenges in the twists and turns. The red trail is more challenging than the other trails. Very well marked and easy to follow.

Great trail for walking dogs, not too hilly, good river views!

Great trek through the woods - nice ups and downs - the trails were marked very well.

Great time, did it today I’m 65 degree rain and it was fantastic

A great trail that is part of a much larger system. lots of joggers and bikers. The waterfall was dry this early September day.

We've hiked this trail twice - the first time it was early spring and we had to turn back because the parts of the trail that weren't covered in ice were thick with black mud; the second time was mid summer and much more enjoyable, though we still didn't make it more than a mile or so. The first half mile is not so pretty, but once you go under the highway overpass it gets better. There are a couple swimming hole spots along the way. Mosquitos were enormous and plentiful in July!

We discovered Gilsland by happy accident. It's lovely! Little bit of woods, little bit of meadow, little bit of marsh and water views. Perfect to burn some kid energy and view birds, wildflowers, and bugs.

Great spot, and easily accessible. Lots of bugs in the first section of the trail, so wear long sleeves.

Be mindful of the poison ivy that grows in abundance just off the trail.

Beautiful mid spring hike next to a waterfall; my 7 year old scampered happily along the trail. Spotted some lovely jack-in-the-pulpit stream side. Easy loop, close to Portland.

It was a awesome hike my family an I enjoyed it so much!

Great for running!

Great trail. Easy hike for all ages.

Some confusing trail markings, but hey, your in Falmouth. Place is pretty swell, lots of room to explore. There's a lot of variety in landscape too. Do this trail!

First run of the year(March), noticed some new signage and planks. Well maintained. This trail is rugged terrain, however. Be careful if you are traveling quickly. I have fallen hard out here on a bike, skis, and on foot.

Whoever took a leaf blower to the trail, thank you! Nice touch given the amount of leaves in these woods.

Great trail but lots of leaves cover it - so watch out for roots and stumps!

Beautiful land with water views here and there through the trail. Well maintained. Easy. Great for families with small kids. We didn't go in, but there was a science center of sorts to explore. It was our back up plan after Mackworth island parking was full. Will definitely be back!!! I'll bring binoculars next time. Great place to bird watch.
