As you can tell from my recordings, I don’t really like to stay on the marked trail, especially in winter when there’s plenty of snow. I do not recommend trying to follow the route I took to get to the top. I was way off the trail on this one and it was very icy in some areas. I was just pulling myself up the mountain side by grabbing one tree at a time and pulling myself upward in the woods. No trail at all.

There were some very nice views from the top though. I agree with previous posters that the towers at the top take away some of the enjoyment of reaching the top. Still, I will do this again.

nice hike and i saw a bobcat up here

Trail was very fun. A good challenging and short hike with awesome views all the way. All the buildings and cell tower at the top took away from the beauty a little. The view point at the top made up for it though. Overall a great hike. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

mostly granite, very steep, view at the top is beautiful

Snowshoed it in March. Beautiful, loved the view. As others said it is steep.

very steep and definitely not for faint of heart. it's not long but is challenging for steepness. Definitelywwear hiking boots or good sneakers. beautiful views from the top!!

Short and steep. Great little hike, nice views.

Nice trail for beginners! Quite steep but short...so not too exhausted.

Fine hike but not an easy one at least for me. Had to stop a few times to get my breath. Trail is steeply uphill over granite about half of the uphill climb/walk. This trail is categorized easy like the Orono bog walk. I love the bog walk. It is easy; but Bald mountain was not. Still loved it but be sure you wear sneakers and the weather has not caused the granite to be slippery with rain or ice.
