a very footy trail. lots of angles, loose rocks and roots. moderate/aggressive start on the bald face trail, however the last 1/3 of the trail is very rolly/flat with great stops/views.

Great short trail. Took Bob Chase trail to South Face Loop Trail and back. Great day with a slight breeze that mostly kept the mosquitoes away.

I would definitely recommend this beautiful trail! I came here with my dog and even though it says it’s “easy”, there are many inclines and declines, rocks, etc. that makes it a really nice hike for good exercise. Didnt find it buggy at all which was awesome and the views at the very top are gorgeous.

lovely trail. eady 1 he loop. great views

Great hike, took us 2 hrs to do. Lots of trail markers (even with the great signage we sometimes walked right by them... that’s more an us problem because the turns were clearly marked!). Really nice views throughout the hike

There are actually at least 3 trails here. We took the Bob chase trail. The view from the summit is stunning. But please be careful not to take the Pate trail in your way back from the summit. It is really really strep and not suggested at all if you've kids. We went halfway on pate trail but then climbed back up and got to parking from the Bob chase trail itself. All in all, lovely trail.

beautiful! I took my twin 3 year old boys here with grammy and really enjoyed it. will definitely return

took this hike with my 14yr old and 9 yr old today. started on the Bob Chase trail to the right, then took the South Face loop trail to the summit, went down the Pate trail to see the lookout and then back tracked and took the other part of the Bob Chase trail back down the mountain. this was a real easy hike with lots of great views and blueberry bushes. took no time at all getting to the top and although it was a quick hike it was worth it.

This is a challenging but excellent way to ascend Pleasant Mountain. It's a steady climb but shaded with some great views along the way. We opted to take Sue's/North Ridge on the way up and it was worth it for the added views. Some water was available near the base but really nothing after the first mile or so. The bugs were minimal, which was a treat. Will definitely hike again!

Have lived in Bridgton for 13 years and today was the first time that my husband and I hiked the whole loop! It was a great day, all the trails have been groomed and cut back from the boardwalks! Also you do not have to walk part of the road like the app shows, trail continues through the woods, all new white marks are on the trees along the trail! Really quiet on the trail!

Loved it!

Easy to follow, not too strenuous, a nice little wander in the heart of Bridgton. It’s pretty in the summer, a little bit muddy, and equally pretty in the snow

A family favorite, we’ve done this one in the summer and around Thanksgiving, in warm weather and light snow. Sometimes the water is very high and covers pieces of the boardwalk, and it is typically muddy, but always quiet with few people and lovely views of the lake. Well marked and easy to follow, not too long or too strenuous

Great trail and the kids loved the ropes course. Parts were very muddy and we needed to go off trail to get around it.

We hiked the Bob Chase Scenic Loop to the top and it didn’t disappoint! This is a kid friendly hike with spectacular views. There are ticks (as would be expected), but if you stay on the well managed trails, they don’t pose much of an issue. We hiked with our three kids (8, 6, and 3) and they all loved it! Maybe we came at the right time, but we never saw any black flies or mosquitos. This will be a regular hiking spot for us in the future!

running

As a trail run, this is nowwhere near as good at the Ledges or SW Ridge trails. The trail is rather steep and not well switch-backed, and there are plentiful roots. Trail work has been done in recent years, and that may have improved things for runners. However, once you reach the Bald Peak summit (limited but nice views), the remainder of the trail south to the main summit is wonderful. A good running alternative is to go up Ledges, then north to Bald Peak, and then reverse it. Very pleasant (pun intended). As a hike, I would bump this up to four stars.
