I did this via the Marston trail to get Mount Coe as well and loved it. Definitely do the Marston loop counter clockwise to avoid coming down the steep rockslide on Mount Coe.

I liked this trail and thought it was really fun up at the summit. I have gone up twice. It's not an easy hike when you get up near the top and you need to be in good shape. I saw more people here with harnessed dogs than I ever did anywhere in my life. This brings up a safety concern where I passed one girl on the trail who was being jerked around her dog. Not only was the dog jerking her around but she was letting him get away with it! Finally, he knocked her over backward just about right in front of me and she almost hit the back of her head on a rock in the trail. I didn't like the idea that I might have to help carry her down the mountain. To anyone with a dog on a leash or harness, the dog should not be jerking you around and especially on a mountain trail where this could be dangerous! This is not only a threat to your safety but also ruins everything for people passing by who might be afraid for you. I'm glad to see all these dogs as long as they're controlled by their owners.

Nice little beginners trail. Lots of parking. Well marked.

great trail!

This was a frequent destination for our dog walks. We quit coming when reports of a toxic algae bloom had killed several dogs who either swam in the ponds or drank the water. Now the ponds are skimmed over in ice. We met several other owners out with their dogs. I’ve never been in love with this place. It feels like one of those waste sites reclaimed for public use. It’s bordered by a power line easement and rimmed by houses. Even in summer when everything is green and warm this place always felt tired and ragged. The dogs enjoy it and it’s a convenient stroll.

great loop trail. blue up ' yellow down. yellow is not as confusing as most people state.

Walked from the Scarborough parking lot out to the marshes. Nice long, straight trail with no real elevation change. Would be great for biking.

My 21 year old son and I do this mini hike the day before T-Day. Then went to LLBean and Bare Naked BBQ post hike. Awesome day. We’d done this hike many times but this was fun: sun plus chill, hiked the south trail clockwise towards loop then to summit. On the descent, we hiked the northern loop trail. Conditions wet wre due to all the rain so good boots recommended. Great hike for families young children and for bird watching. Lunch or snack at the summit key :)).

The J boys needed a outdoor break post Thanksgiving and visited the RC Wildlife Refuge in Wells. Beautiful! It was a cold (35 degrees) and windy but this trail has wooded coverage and we had sunshine to help fend off the chill. We stopped at half of the 7 or 8 ‘scenic ‘ stops, saw a variety of sea birds along the marsh and river. Well worth a visit .

great hike. A little icy in spots but still doable with just boots. Great 360° views once on top. mountains on one side ocean on the other. great hike for kids and it dogs

11/30/19 - Trail starts off with 2-3 inches tops. As you gain elevation the snow increases. About mile from the summit the snow is at least a foot. Recommend bringing snow shoes. Views from the top are spectacular.

good trail. great views from the top

wet and windy today mid 30s.

I only give this 4 stars because the driveway into the actual trailhead is terrible and was almost unpassable with my 2000 Toyota Camry. I recommend a vehicle with a higher clearence if you want to go to the true trailhead, otherwise, I'd suggest you park at the first parking area, which is car-friendly. It adds at least 1.4 miles total, but saves your car. Besides this, the hike wasn't bad. The stream was pretty, especially, the Lower and Upper Falls.

Great view from cliff!

fairly easy hike with nice views

this was our first winter hike in the fall of 2018. we were the only ones there, about 6 inches of snow and ice. it was so beautiful! who is important to go to the overlook profuse, has the summit was worded and mostly closed in.
