Super pleasant and well maintained trail, great hike. Crossing beaver dam was easy and dry, steady climb uphill but never too steep to the top.

I tried to do this trail yesterday. It started off quite lovely, lots of fun creek crossings and a boulder field with huge caves. A bit after that continuing to be on the trail proved to be quite difficult. We tried for another couple of miles, even, before giving up and struggling to retrace our steps. Could be a nice trail if effort was put in to maintain it!

Great trail (hiked 5/24/20) - the beavers like to build a dam where there once was a bridge. Met the man working on the trail and overall he does a great job. You do need to walk over the dam but if you stay on it, you’ll be fine. Like others have said, great views about 10mins after the summit!

Beautiful trail and moderate in difficulty. Worth doing the loop at the summit for gorgeous views of shell pond and mountains on the other side of the valley.

I would recommend starting at East Royce Trail a mile up the road. This one goes down, crosses the river and then gets steep very quickly. I would not consider it easy in any way. Also, trail markers are far apart and very faded. Watch carefully! The top is worth the climb, but there are better trails up. Happy hiking!

Nice quick family hike to Round Pond. Trail starts at Crocker Pond near the primitive campground. Muddy in spots. Super buggy right now.

Great hike with amazing views at the end of the trail. It was very buggy and there is a flooded portion of the trail that was difficult to get through. Definitely need waterproof boots for that spot. I would say this is a more moderate than easy hike. Overall it was very enjoyable and I would do it again.

Great hike on a well maintained trail. The AllTrails map is wrong on the top of the Stone House Trail just before the vista loop at the peak of blueberry mountain. It takes a small detour (but still really well marked!). Definitely stop by rattlesnake pool and maybe even take a dip! Great views of the nearby lakes and mountains from the top.

3 different options when it comes to trails. Rattle snake pool is a must see and easy to get to with kiddos along Stone House Trail. The White Cairn trail is more on the difficult side. The summit is steep, very steep and requires a good set of lungs. I took my 5 yo not knowing what we were getting into and although we made it, there was some nervousness and intense moments.

Definitely a vertical mile and a half. Great views of the Prezis and the Carter-Moriah range at the top. Lovely morning, but a nearly full parking lot - would reccomend getting here early. Also - about 2/10 of a mile in, there's a yellow blaze on your right that might trick you into turning right - don't do it! Bear left towards the waterfall and the rest is self-explanatory.

Perfect smaller mountain trails were a good workout and only issue is the beaver dam which was impossible to pas without getting your foot or feet wet. Lovely day..Amazing views

Was so excited to go on this hike. The first half mile was well maintained and great! A little buggy but that's the trade off with a gentle trail. Came across a heavily flooded portion of the trail at a swamp crossing - maybe beavers? Broke out my poles, got about 2/3 across, but could not find the other side of the trail let alone a safe way to get there. Bummer. Am I missing something? This was two days after good rains. I'm surprised there's no mention in other recent reviews. I'm sure the rest of the trail is lovely.

Great trail! There were a few spots that were a little bit difficult to hike with a dog, so I would suggest not bringing your furry friend unless their well behaved on a leash. But the views were amazing!!

Beautiful trail, very well maintained. Amazing views if you can hike another 10-15 min past the summit. Well worth the extra bit.

Short steep and to the point! The trail is really cool though with lots of little waterfalls. There is still PLENTY of snow on the way up (a couple feet in places) and it’s very wet and slippery. Regardless, it’s definitely worth it for the view!! Lot of bang for your buck on this one.
