Easy trail for hiking, snowshoeing, and biking. Trail is mostly gravel and is very wide. Lots of beautiful views of wildlife, bogs, meadows, and ponds. Best parking options are Hulls Cove Visitor Center, Eagle Lake lot near Park Headquarters, and a smaller parking area off of Duck Brook Bridge Road.

Easy trail along the Atlantic Ocean with dozens of viewing options of the waves, wildlife, Acadia's iconic pink granite, the popular Thunder Hole attraction, Otter Cliffs, Monument Cove, Sand Beach. Keep in mind the Park Loop Road is one-way traffic access along Ocean Path. Great parking options include Sand Beach parking lot and Fabbri parking lot which are on opposite ends of Ocean Path Trail. Excellent hiking and snowshoeing. Ocean Path offers dozens of worn spur trails, keep your eyes peeled.

Excellent, but need to be in decent shape and have a sense of adventure. As others have said, do not take kids and you must wear hiking shoes. One in our group has on running shoes which supported him fine but the soles were torn up by the end. This is climbing and rock scrambling more than a hike. We got there at 9am and found parking, but trail was starting to get crowded. Views from the top were amazing, also a nice breeze and perfect picnic spot to rest at the top. We came back along North Ridge to Black & Orange which meets up with the bottom of Precipice back to the parking lot. If you are tired, I'd suggest just taking the .2 Mile trail down to Park Loop Rd and walking back along the road. Orange & Black is all rock stairs, up and down, along the side of the mountain. Not easy after the climb up. This is one of the most difficult trails I've ever hiked, a bucket list hike for sure.

Great challenges, but tough.

The Bowl was great to see. We did it as our way down after Beehive Trail. Nice add on after the summit.

Nice easy loop with good views from Great Head Summit. We did it after Beehive Trail so it was a great cool down after that amazing hike.

My family started in the Ocean trail and stopped by Thunder hole walked another .2 miles to Gotham trail head. We also added the Cadillac Cliffs to the hikes which added a little bit more mileage and a lot more fun. Gotham has great views of Sand Beach. Easy way down back to Loop Road at Sandy Beach entrance. It was an excellent combination.

Wonderful experience! During the loop, take the Cadillac Cliffs trail, which merges back after a stretch, for little caves and a small scramble. Lots of interesting geology and great views. Kids loved it. Would do again.

GreTa trail. surprisingly not to busy. The views!!!

Really nice trail with amazing views along the ridge going towards the summit. Only downside was its proximity to the cars driving on the summit road... you could hear them much of the way up and at points the trail runs near the road. Did this as a sunrise hike because we got up too late to hike the south ridge. However, the views were still great, and we sat to watch the sunrise along the ridge to avoid the massive crowds on the summit.

Kid friendly, dog friendly, incredible views! Crowded, but not unreasonably so for a weekend, and everyone was friendly. A few spots where lifting my dog was necessary, but probably could have navigated differently.

Wonderful views that you can only find along the coast of Maine!

The main path is a mostly flat, boring gravel path alongside a road. Every 100 ft or so there are small capillary paths that lead to magnificent cliffside views, each with its own magic. It’s worth taking each diversion.

Chose this route from the summit of Cadillac mountain, after taking the Gorge path to the top. Nice route that somewhat follows the summit road. We had parked near the Gorge path entrance from the park loop road, which was about 1/2 mile walk back to our vehicle on exiting this trail.

Great trail for boulder scrambles. There are definitely a few sections that aren’t for the faint of heart. If you fear heights, take the Orange & Black path to Champlain Ridge Trail

Great trail for views and young families. Wide short trail to the water.

This hike was great! I went with my family of 6 with my husband and kids ages 12, 10, 7, and 4 months old. We hiked along the beach starting at the sand beach parking lot. We climbed on the cliffs. Then we went up the gorham mountain trail. We took the cliff path and loved it! The top of the gorham mountain is beautiful.

great work out. went up north dorr mountain and down Ladder trail.

Great hike, but be sure to come early (~9:00AM) or it is a zoo. The Directions (GPS coordinates) take you to the Sand Beach P lot, from where you take the Ocean Trail (pleasant stroll) past Thunderhole (a zoo) to the Gorham trail P lot (small, no bathrooms) and trailhead. The hike up is moderately strenuous with a few mini rock climbs and ‘gorges’ that are good fun for older kids (e.g., young teens). The terrain is pretty rocky overall, we found our hiking boots and poles helpful. Great views across the top of the mountain. The descend (or climb, depending which way you come) on the other end of the mountain, closer to Bowl trail, is less steep and offers a few trail extensions or shortcuts depending on your interests and stamina. The Bowl trail end was very crowded, lots of ppl getting started, by the time we got there and finished our hike (12:00 PM).

Absolutely beautiful and so worth it. The views are AMAZING. I recommend packing a lunch and taking your time to enjoy the scenery.
Make sure you wear good shoes! Some rocks were slick.

Took this down from the summit after ascending Precipice - great views of Bar Harbor from the top. Take orange/black path as a shortcut to the Precipice parking lot.

Went up in early August. Good, fairly intense hike with well-marked trails. The day before was foggy so we decided to wait a day and it was a great decision. We’re all in pretty good shape (aging from 15 to 50) and it took an hour and fifteen minutes going up with stops for water breaks and pictures.

Did it in late June with a family of 4 of varying physical fitness levels. Awesome views and a very well marked trail.

Great trail. I went early to beat the crowds - 5:30am in the summer - worthwhile, as it most likely backs up with traffic due to the amount of ladders and tight spaces.
Definitely more of a climb w/ Great views at the end for reward.

Great time easy walk lots of people out there
