love this place. so peaceful and great workout for me. perfect length and test of physical fitness. Would definitely recommend as ive been going for over 10 years now. Beautiful waterfalls and great view if you hike to the top. dog friendly and low traffic. there is a easy paved walking trail at top for those who cannot complete hiking trails and there is seperate rd to this. also easier trails across rd with ponds and creek that is a peaceful quiet setting and has picnic tables.

Beautiful view and gorgeous waterfalls. Just wanted to get out and see what kind of trails Kentucky has before I head home. I would recommend this trail to anyone and everyone that wants to see some gorgeous scenery.

We enjoyed this trail this morning. The blacktop path was nice but exploring the trails along the creek were the best!
Not your typical “hiking trail” but great for pictures and a cool dip in the pool below the falls.
Great parking and great starter hike for the little ones!

Amazing trail for myself, 14 & 9 y/o. Beautiful views and gorgeous waterfall. Perfect hike!

Go to the right when you start the trail. Better views right away.

half way can be a bit steap and slick but the waterfall is beautiful.

Pretty straight forward. Has 2 paths that run almost parallel and cross each other at times, so even while on the creek just look left or right and pick a path or hike it's entirety as a "loop". The waterfall isn't that great but I'm sure it has better days.

Did this trail this past Sunday morning. Easy to find once I got parked in the parking area by the bridge. No trail markers but was able to locate with no problem. I was worried the falls would not be running because the stream was dry. It was running but not much. Beautiful area to hike back to.

After playing dodge the pothole down a grave road, we found the 2nd trail head (which isn’t marked at the road!). Sign states 1 mile which it is to the top of the falls and another 0.3 to the bottom. The path is slightly narrow and extremely filled with roots. All in all it was a moderately hard trail with some very nice rock structures and a nice creek along side the path. Once at the falls our dog got to swim in the cool water and enjoy scenery. Only issue is the huge piles of trash collected on the bank.

Beautiful setting of Pine Mountain. Turn off to falls or rock was confusing to me and took the wrong turn up to Pine Mountain only to turn back to the falls. Amazing mushrooms in July. Small swimming hole at the bottom of the falls. I went after series of heavy rain so the water was abundant perfect for getting soaked.

Great trip to a special place on the lake. allow yourself 2-2.5 hours round trip. Absolutely stunning scenery along the way and several water features as well.

dog Slaughter Falls had a wonderful view of the waterfalls at the end of the trail. the only thing that was a complaint would be the signs were incorrect mileage hike. but other other than that I wouldn't change a thing about our trip. it was beautiful, I would recommend it!

I grew up hiking this trail as it's only 2 miles from my parents home. Hard to believe I could run the whole way in high school.
The trail has changed over the years, although the route is the same. Volunteers, including my dad, have built bridges and stairs at points along the trail now making it easier to access.
Love this trail, the memories it holds & the waterfall ( especially after a big rain).

Very nice trail. Make sure to do the white trails as well.

We hiked this trail over the weekend. It was very beautiful, quiet and peaceful. A very beautiful place and we will be going back again

Awesome trip and cold water to cool off in

Made it to Dog Slaughter Falls last weekend and had a wonderful time! Gorgeous hike all the way to the falls and back. Not too difficult at all but definitely seemed longer than one mile as the marker stated. Definitely going back!

Great 3mi loop in Grayson Lake State Park. Trail head is by the basketball court near the campground entrance. Thankfully they put up a new trailhead sign! Loop is well marked and well maintained. A nice walking stick is recommended as you'll encounter numerous spider webs across the trail, especially if you're the first one out that day. Follow the orange blaze markers to stay on the trail. The falls are really worth the hike, especially after a good rain. The first "half" of the trail(up to the falls) is a little boring. Some nice wildlife sightings occasionally, but nothing special. After passing the falls though, the trail follows the lake closely and you get some wonderful views of the lake and the rock cliffs surrounding it.

Great Trail! Highly recommend.

It was very tough hike getting back there. The trail is loaded with copperheads and rattlesnakes. The waterfall was a mere drip drop. It was not worth risking my life with all the poisonous snakes. No thanks.

It was a good hike, not great. We did the entire red course and it was 4 Miles as opposed to the 5.5 listed on this app. We did spur off onto the white trail at times and if we had not, we’d have missed the waterfall (which was more like a water/rock feature with a small pool at the bottom). Easy access to cool off or take your shoes off to dip your feet! The over look was another highlight of the hike. Not too muddy, but there were spots that were along the route. I’d consider this a great place to hike with kids/family as you can take the blue or green trails back to the Nature Center at many points and shorten the length of this hike, which is the only thing I’d say might be difficult for beginners. The signage and available maps were wonderful! One of the best marked hikes we’ve been on. The drive back into Ravens Run was beautiful on our July morning!

Great little hike with our puppy. He loved splashing around in the shallow pool at the base of the falls.

Amazing hike- the trail is on the more difficult side as you get to Dog Slaughter trail from Sheltowee Trace, though

This is a great hike for all skill levels. We did the 1 mile trailhead and it was pretty simple. The trail between the falls and the river are much trickier but still easy enough for my 5 yo without any help. It’s a great swimming hole with nice cool water. Be careful as there are large boulders hidden under the surface. You can be standing in ankle deep water then over your head with the next step. I was able to touch bottom in almost every spot with only a few deeper areas, in general the deep spots were only a couple feet from areas you could stand. I read a review somewhere that mentioned large crawfish, which I wrote off as someone not having seen a lot of crawfish. However, my daughter and son crossed paths with one that was literally the size of a small lobster. The pinchers were the size of above average sized crawfish. It was an amazing specimen but wasn’t very aggressive, so don’t be afraid to go in the water.

My best friend and I took our 7 kids ranging in age from 5-13 and we had a blast. The trail is very well marked and wasn't too difficult for the little ones. The kids enjoyed wading in the water beneath the falls before we headed back.

Scenery is wonderful. But summer weekends feature crowds, motor boats, and loud partying on the water in earshot of the "hidden falls."

Great hike! Beautiful falls at the end of the hike. Took about 1 hour from trail head. Very hard to find. It is off a gravel road, 2 1/2 miles down. Thought we would never find it. But def glad we did.

Beautiful hike in my hometown. I’ve done this trail so many times it’s a quick hike too. Can be done in less than 2 hours round trip

Great trails at Cove Spring. This trail is easy to moderate. To be enjoyed by the whole family. Also incorporate the Osage trail in your hike, you will really enjoy it, lots of deer in the Early morning and late evening to be seen
