As of January 8, 2019, this trail along with tunnel ridge, Indian creek and rock bridge are all closed until further notice. We came to visit for the weekend and the road was blocked.

Lovely. Paved, shaded and level. This would be perfect for a nice run or have the kids out with their bikes. Trail is lined by gentle moving water with historic bridges. Absolutely beautiful. There’s a shallow cave towards the end. Really enjoyed this one.

Great short and easy walk. It’s mostly paved. Good lofty views of the surrounding valley and distant rock formations. Our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed the trail too. The washed out section of road (from previous reviews) is no longer an issue. The Forest Service has apparently fixed it. We didn’t encounter one.
We were here between Christmas and New Year’s so there was no foliage but it was still beautiful.
There is a parking lot and pit toilets at the trailhead.

Great Christmas Day hike. Good wide trails, some wet but expected with recent rains. Very enjoyable.

Very enjoyable

It’s surpassing to see that there was an incline in this trail based on the metrics but it’s there. This trail is an old road so it is paved to a degree although Mother Nature is working on taking back the area. When we went through the leaves were still falling and the pavement was a bit slippery in places. Overall, a scenic walk with some historical signs to read along the way.

Perfect length, right in the city and beautiful.

This is a favorite to take my young kids on . They love feeding the turtles. Most of it isn't shaded so it can get hot during the middle of the day during the summer but most of the time it's pleasant.

this trail is closex

Great trail. convenient for biking, walking and running simultaneously. paved pathway. sometimes confusing which path to take when multiple paths intersect. You have to cross a busy road at one point in the trail, so you must be mindful of traffic. Overall a great trail.

very easy hike. beautiful area

An easy trail with a history. Locals should do it at least once.

More of a walking/running path. Great for taking the dog(s) for a walk or getting a good run in. Never too crowded. Concrete path is great for rainy day runs too.

Such an interesting place! If your at MCNP why not! You know it’s the only naturally occurring pond in the region of the cave!!!

The views! Super easy my grandma in her walker could do this trail! It’s the drive back the 5 mile dirt road! Easy enough except for the rather large wash out approx a half mile in! If you drive a Prius might I suggest you don’t go mudding through said puddle! Dude if you subscribe drop a note in here so we know you made it out! ❤️ your jumper cable friends

Very easy hike. Beautiful sunset. There was a really muddy area on the road getting to the trail. I would not have crossed if my vehicle didn’t have AWD.

nice easy trail with an awesome view at the end. only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it was labeled wheel chair accessable and it was a challenge pushing my daughter from pavement to rock.

Easy paved trail with some nice historic bridges and a creek running alongside it.

Great little trail, the scenery I loved!!

Go in the evening to catch some deer down in the springs!

This is a great paved walk to do with little ones. It is suitable for strollers. There are leaves on the ground and some sticks, so a jogging stroller is best so the ride would be smooth. A nice stream follows most of the path and you cross it on three old bridges. The pathway dead ends at a gate into Fort Knox. Going out is a very slightly uphill most of the way, but it's all slightly downhill going back to your car.

Very cool short hike
