Great trail to a very impressive display. I was hiking around above Grays Arch before realizing that I was actually on top of the arch. There is an unmarked trail with some great camping spots here, and you can come down a boulder to stand on top of the arch. Must go down below to appreciate it, quite a fantastic thing... no idea how that happens naturally.

Great trip in the woods with really interesting rock features.

Fun trail. A bit muddy by the creek but the ridge was gorgeous and double arch fun to explore. We elongated the trail by hiking to star gap arch off the dirt road

Short, easy. Good to do with chimney rock since they’re right next to each other.

Best views in the Gorge! Easy to miss the turn if you are not paying attention.

My fav trail in rrg

Agree with everyone who says the first 1.25 mi isn't too exciting. Its an easy walk with minimal elevation change down a gravel road, however, there are still some good views along the way and in mid to late October, during peak leaf change the trees are magnificent. The last mile weaves through ldt and has some decent elevation change. The arch at the end and the view if give is worth it. Going to the top of the arch is icing on the cake.

Lots of cliffs and majestic views of this beautiful land God created-Love it and Protect it
5.6 mike hike while carrying heavy backpack w 100lb dog....my favorite hiking bud

Great views. If camping in the valley between courthouse rock and double arch, watch for flash flooding. It’s obvious that parts of the trail would be inaccessible during rainy days. Although no rain during my stay, it was impossible to keep the fire going with everything being so damp. Great hike. I’ll return! The only complaint is that it’s definitely a popular trail, but it’s obvious why. The parking lot fills up quickly, and we had to park on the side of the road a ways down and walk to the trailhead.

Great Views! Definitely worth the drive!

Always a great hike!

One of my favorite trails all year round! It’s great to get an understanding of the red river gorge’s varying landscape, seeing both high elevation points at double arch and auxier ridge, and low elevation points along the trail. It’s great for dogs too, but bring plenty of water for them during the summer as the ridge can get really hot and you will need some extra water to cool your furfriends down. This is also a great hike for those who enjoy KY native vegetation and seeing all the different types of trees/bushes that cover this land.

Great hike! Make sure you bring water, because on the way back you'll want it after going up a couple staircases and inclines. Easy to follow trail. We did it with 3 of our kids ages 7-11, and they enjoyed it.

Love this place

This private trail was awesome!!! You can tell that the owner who maintains it really loves the trail. Just FYI he opened a piece of his land for parking and it is $5 if you want to park there.

As for the actual hike well it was worth every drop of sweat!! The view on top was breathtaking! You experience various kinds of terrain and the hike progressively gets more challenging as you get closer to the top! We also loved that even though it was Labor Day we basically had the whole trail to ourselves. Only on our way down did we run into some other hikers. The entire hike up and back took us two hours but we are fast walkers and barely stop.

Highly recommend this hike and I hope that this trail remains open for many years to come. Myself, my husband and our pup would love to come back.

Perfect for a day away from town ..lol.

Our hike ended up being about 8.5 miles. We did Auxier Trail to Courthouse Rock to Double Arch and took the gravel road back to the parking lot.

Great hike in and out. Red River Gorgeous views

A beautiful, shaded hike that leads to gorgeous Kentucky hills views. Plenty of lookouts along the sides of the trail, and an amazing one at the very end.

The views on this backpacking trip are some of the best I've seen in The Red. You get to appreciate all its aspects from above, the climbing, the hiking, the forests, the arches, all can be found here on this well rounded trip.

Another beautiful gem of The Red with a very fitting name! Easy hike out and back to enjoy another of the Red River Gorge's many arches.

Fun family backpacking trip up to views of The Red and all the way down into its valleys to enjoy all aspects of one of Kentucky's greatest treasures. It was so peaceful to camp in the valley next to a bubbling creek that flowed by. Rejuvenating!

On a family backpacking trip through The Red, we saw Star Gap Arch's name and just had to go see it, since my name is Starr. Now, I may be biased, but Star Gap Arch is my favorite. You can walk above and below the arch to enjoy all aspects of nature's sculpture.

Been going to the Gorge for years and never hiked to Hanson's Point until now. As others have said it's a fairly easy hike but the secondary trail going off 221 is tight. This is a place I would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Beautiful arch and also if you go up some more there is a small cliff, a little dangerous for kids as there is no rails on that cliff. It is less than a mile walk and not bad at all.

No words for this trail. Had an amazing time.

A fantastic, family friendly short trail for first timers with a decent pay off at the end. The views around the arch are awesome, be careful on top of the arch, it is a bit slanted to the side
