Beautiful arch and also if you go up some more there is a small cliff, a little dangerous for kids as there is no rails on that cliff. It is less than a mile walk and not bad at all.

No words for this trail. Had an amazing time.

A fantastic, family friendly short trail for first timers with a decent pay off at the end. The views around the arch are awesome, be careful on top of the arch, it is a bit slanted to the side

This fantastic trail offers amazing views and interesting views of rock formations, I can wait to go back after the leaves change colors. Saw the biggest rattle snake I have ever seen after climbing up a set of rock stairs, at least 5 feet long. I would not recommend children under 8 on this trail as it gets very narrow with massive drop offs toward the end.

Great time hiking. Beautiful views. I would definitely do it again.

It was alright, the trail maps (from the park) and trail signs poorly judge the distance to and from different points. Also at several times the trails were quite overgrown with poison ivy. However, the arch itself was beautiful along with the sights through the arch. I would highly suggest taking the final trail to walk across the arch for the higher view of the valley and other ridges!

I tried hiking this trail last Saturday morning. A tree had fallen across the road so I wasn’t able to access the parking lot. Tried hiking later in the day and between the sun, heat and me being tired of hiking multiple other trails. I was unable to complete. Will try again another time.

Love this trail. Not a lot of up and down hills. Not to hard if you have someone a little out of shape with you. Beautiful views.

beautiful views, going back to do the loop.

The trail was very pretty and I enjoyed being in dense woods. The rock formations all along the trail were fantastic, and climaxed at the double arch. Our group enjoyed exploring and even saw some cool wildlife, such as a small green snake, a lizard, and a black widow spider.

I would warn anyone who is planning to go on this hike that there are obvious hazards (such as the aforementioned spider), but also a ton of poison ivy. My sister is very allergic, so we had to be exceedingly careful to avoid it. This need for caution did detract from the overall enjoyability of the hike. Despite this, the four star rating is still well earned.

Beautiful views. Apparently it’s a pretty popular trail. Several people there by the time I arrived at 9:30 a.m. and the parking lot was full by 12:30 p.m. when I was leaving on a Friday. I would rate it as moderate. I didn’t make it to Courthouse because the dog was nervous about the stairs, would like to go back and do the loop.

Awesome trail! Easy first half with the gravel road. After dropping into the gorge, your greeted with some great rock formations, cliffs, and shelters. After arriving to the arch, be sure to climb on top and to the left for an incredible 360 degree view. Just be careful, the first 150’ step is a doozie! Do some exploring on top as well in the opposite direction.

Really good hike. Great views.

Really fun climbing the arch

My favorite trail. Hiked about a dozen times, each as rewarding as the last. The views are absolutely tremendous for how little activity it takes to get there. Simply wonderful

Gorgeous hike will plenty of ridge views and river crossings. It’s a challenging one though. Quite a few climbs and descents. It’s easy to lose the trail in a few areas. I hope to do it again when I’m in better shape. :)

Amazing views from the edge of the mountain! The road driving up there is TERRIBLE though. Took us 20 minutes to drive the 5 miles up there but once you get there can do this hike plus Chimney Top also. Worth the trip for sure! Best part for us wasn’t the Princess Arch but the views from the hike around it. Loved it!

Nice scenery and trails were good

Very short trail, the views may not be as good as Chimney Top but the trails offers more to do which makes it slightly more enjoyable than Chimney Top.

My friend Justin and I just completed this trek yesterday. A backcountry combination of several pieces of trails through the serene and beautiful deep Red River Gorge. We parked a car at the Sheltowee Suspension Bridge parking area, then drove another to the Martin's Fork trailhead and hiked back to the first car. It took us just over 4 hours to complete the 8 mile excursion. The start of the hike up Martin's Fork is one the nicest places in the Gorge and a pleasant hike. Then you'll quickly ascend to the top of Tunnel Ridge, which will definitely get you warmed up for the rest of the hike! After this you'll descend to a low saddle between Tunnel Ridge and Koomer Ridge before ascending the latter. From there you'll descend the remainder of the hike and follow Chimney Top Creek all the way down to the Red River. Most of the trail sections selected for this hike are very lightly trafficked and the sense of space and seclusion out in the middle of this section of the Gorge is superb. Great day hike. Bring lots of water, some good snacks and chocolate, and give yourself plenty of time!

This is a nice Arch with a great view. Half of this hike is a gravel road. Not great. Other half is a nice trail. Keep kids from the 140 foot cliff at the Arch. Would have a better rating except the boring gravel road.. I’d do this hike again but after I finish all the other trails at the Gorge first.

this trail has spectacular views if you hike in using the main trail and just retrace your steps back out. if you hike the loops, the rest of the loop is kind of anticlimactic, pretty strenuous and in some places not well marked.
