I didn't walk the entire trail but I hiked it for 2 hours and there were a million webs, I think I hit at least 10 spider webs and had to crawl on my hands and knees to get under a tree that fell. Having a stick was helpful! It was a nice view

I love this trail ...best views of the lake ... several large rock formations... perfect! One very large tree remains across one section that you have to crawl under, but that’s hiking! Wonderful trail!

It’s a good starter trail. A few benches along the way but no views.

Good for a warm up trail.

had some issues hiking the full JW trail. first the trailhead by the lodge was closed but there was no notice on the website or anywhere else. just a sign at the entrance. i checked a different trailhead and it was open but there should be notice if a trail or part is closed before you get there. second. spiders everywhere. the whole trail had webs strewn across the trail. i had to get a stick and waive it in front of me the whole hike so i wouldn't walk into a web and pick up a nasty companion. third. big tree blocking a narrow and steep section. was nearly impassable. had to take off my pack and slide under it. i still give 3 stars for potential. would be a great hike with a little trail TLC.

Nice easy walk, not much to see and can’t get close to water

Great trail, it’s a little up and down but it’s a round about ascent to the top of the ridge. Has some great views overlooking the lake from the ridge line. Has a few good spots to stop and rest on the way up with plenty of shade.

Great short trail. I have hiked this several times and have even taken Girl Scouts on it a few times. It's short with a small up hill climb.

Went a while back on this trail. Really quiet. Took the dogs with us. Dogs had a blast running and jumping in the lake.

A rare gem that is completely private and rarely used. That's one of the most appealing aspects because Im not a fan of congested parks. I've hiked various JW trails (I prefer the trail with the overlook) roughly 30 times in the past two years and not once did I encounter another hiker. Secondly, certain trails need a facelift desperately but for the most part, they're in decent shape. A few authentic trail signs have faded or pealed away so someone marked on arrows with a ink pen. Which is appreciated but seriously how difficult is to find a replacement marker? The trails are very clean - Little to no garbage, however, occasionally I see a Mcdonalds bag tossed on the trail or a beer can. The overlook has been "renovated" and seems to be the most maintained spot on the entire trail. Speaking of maintenance, It would be nice if someone went around there with a chainsaw removing a few massive trees that block paths. I had to literally get on all fours just to crawl under a tree blocking a path on more recent hike. Kinda aggravating and it would definitely be an issue for older folks. Overall despite a few minor annoyances this is one of my favorite local trails to hike. * I've also encountered various snakes and white tail deer while hiking.

Nice hike. Took our 3 kids this evening. They were disappointed that we couldn't get closer to the water but it was a very nice trail.

Short, little hike that's great for kids. Just as they started to ask, "how much longer?", it was over.

This is a good trail to do if you are short on time or if you want to add it into another trail in the area. You can hike this along with the Lake Shore trail and makes for a good round trip hike.
