Loved this trail. It was a bit longer than expected (we clocked 6.6 miles with a few side stops). Had trouble finding the trailhead but the map.me app helped. Great hike with lots of gorgeous views, it kept getting better all the way to the end.

Beautiful hike! Trail was easy to find. First gravel road on the left just past the turn off the the laurel lake spill way. Go about 2 miles down the gravel road. You will see a small parking area to the right inside a curve. Trail starts along the creek. We hike 3 miles in just past the newly built bridge across the creek down the a cascading waterfall in the creek. Will definitely be going back to this trail.

Great trail that everyone in Kentucky should go to

Such a gorgeous trail! You can skip the loop and go straight to the falls without doing the whole loop. Took 4 kids and the water under the Falls was perfect for swimming. Deep and refreshing on a 86 degree October day! The area around the falls was fun to relax and explore. We scaled the giant rocks and explored by the river. Tricky getting back up but worth it. A fairly easy trail but lots of steps. Uneven footing and steep drop offs so maybe not great with little children. Gorgeous view of Cumberland falls.

Great day out with just the wife. :) moderate hike. Hot day. Great overlook. A bit crowded at final fall today though. No complaints.

Fantastic hike. The roar of the large Cumberland waterfall in the front end of the hike is awesome. The second half - lots of stairs - is also very interesting. Lots of large rocks, boulders and outcroppings. Swimming hole and falls as the grand finale!

beautiful short stroll to a lovely view up and down the river. Be aware, it can get incredibly muddy very quickly.

This is probably my most favorite place to swim. Such a beautiful and majestic waterfall. It wasn't overly crowded either!

Perfect hike for myself and my 6 year old, we loved it! We did the whole loop and it was challenging enough without being too strenuous on him. My son was able to swim in the water near the falls which made the hike extra rewarding. Any other time of year it would be too cold though, we came in August.

Stayed many nights along the river here with friends. Cascades are neat and trail intersects with the Sheltowee trace 100 along the way at the cascades. Some of the inclines along the way are little tougher than a moderate rating I thought.

Great day hike trail with plenty of good overlooks into Cumberland Falls and the river. Kid friendly and beautiful waterfall at the end of the trail loop. We stop in here at least once a year.

Beautiful view and gorgeous waterfalls. Just wanted to get out and see what kind of trails Kentucky has before I head home. I would recommend this trail to anyone and everyone that wants to see some gorgeous scenery.

Amazing trail for myself, 14 & 9 y/o. Beautiful views and gorgeous waterfall. Perfect hike!

Trail was moderate given the massive amount of stairs! To get to the falls you have to cross the beach of boulders and sand. It was very dangerous given all the broken glass everywhere!!! The falls it self was very nice!

Easy hike, runs along the river with a nice little rock to sit and enjoy the water about 1/2 way through.

This was a great hike, not too strenuous. I took my dog and she loved it. There are a few great spots along the river to walk on the riverbank. There are some trees down in a few areas and make it a little difficult to follow the trail, but as long as you follow the blazes you should be find.

This was an awesome hike! Be prepared, it is a tough hike due to the incline and high humidity.. Gorgeous views. Probably my favorite so far in Cumberland Falls.

One of the best in-and-out trails in the country. Other people have correctly described it as magical. From a river, golden eagles, exotic mushroom species, fish, caves, solitude, rock formations, and plenty of shade, this trail has it all.

We hiked on a Monday and literally did not see anyone on the trail or the trail road. The final road to the trailhead is gravel. The trailhead itself is immediately north of the river not south. Don’t be fooled by the trailhead opening south of the river, that’s not the trailhead.

I am 59, ten pounds overweight and in fair condition. We went on a pretty hot day. No question I got warm, but the trail is not super strenuous; its moderate rating is accurate. There are areas of caution, including steep grades and slippery rocks, but with a modicum of caution, it’s fairly safe and a lot of fun.

There is no cell phone service, and the system of roads in are just a little complicated. Downloading the area on a GPS App such as Maps With Me will eliminate the problem of getting in and out. We hiked to the Cumberland River, which makes it 2.5 miles out (in and out 5 miles). The number of streams and waterfall, plus previous high-water points, means this would not be a good area to get caught in during a red-cell thunderstorm. Lastly children under 10 and individuals with physical difficulties probably would find this trail very challenging.

We hiked to Eagle Falls yesterday—it was a great hike! Well worth it when you get to the Falls-Beautiful and refreshing! In one place you get a great view of Cumberland Falls — stunning!

Very nice hike. Not too strenuous, even with all of the steep steps. The heat index was pushing 100 today so it was a little warm for sure. We took our 2 year old son and he did pretty well. Will definitely be back.

Great hike to a swim in the falls.

Overall this trail is a pretty easy hike with the exception of some steep stairs about halfway through. There are plenty of places to hang out on the rocks near the falls which makes it a good place to have a picnic or just enjoy the views of the river

Beautiful scenery 5 stars, trail needs A LOT of work. Lots of debris and trees across the trail, numerous poorly marked sections of the trail and multiple reroute signs. Took a map and used Alltrails and was still hard to find the actual trail in spots. Strenuous hike but fun.

I love it¡
Good workouts!
