Great trail for kids, the elderly and for handicapped people.

this is the easy end of a moderate trail. I did the whole this with me, my dog and boyfriend. It was flat for the most part, very well marked and east to naviagte. Wasnt very busy saw only a few people. Be careful there are bikers on the trail. BEWARE! of many horse flies, i got bit twice by them. But over all the trail is awesome.

We accessed this one from the Echo River trail. It's a connector trail and it's easy just like all the rest.

This whole area is absolutely beautiful!

Great for anyone

Nice trail partially paved then rock. Got to see the old entrance to the cave, takes you right along the river for some nice views of it as well.

Great easy trail for the kids

Great trail and accessible for wheelchairs!

Rated moderate for distance but not a difficult hike. The trail is well maintained and horses are not allowed on most of the trail unlike other areas of the park. You will need to park at the Maple Springs trailhead where there are toilets and picnic benches. The first mile is a connector trail to the Big Hollow trailhead which is mixed use for mountain biking and horseback riding. The Big Hollow portion consists of 2 loops joined in the middle by a connector trail which is great if you decide to make it a shorter hike. We encountered only 6 people on a Spring weekend with great weather.

Short and easy loop that passes the original Mammoth Cave entrance, another cave, and the river. Saw some deer along the way!

Not much to see at the cave entrance. I went by in a loop to Dixon Cave, Green River, and then back on River Styx which worked out great.

We walked the entire trail including the massive stairs at the beginning - end. It was strenuous in my opinion, if you start at the top picnic area then go to the Mammoth Cave entrance. Great views!

This is historically interesting, but I prefer a not so well known area in the park where you can visit the Collins family home. There's a ticket stand next to it and a path that leads to Crystal Cave which was discovered by Floyd Collins. He would lead tours there (hence the ticket stand). Crystal Cave is closed since about 10 years ago, it was vandalized by a group of idiots.

The Good Springs Trail is no longer supported by the park and there is a sign that states that there is no trail access, nonetheless, we followed the trail. There were are lot of downed trees, none of which were very difficult to maneuver around. The trail goes about a mile before connecting with the Dry Prong Trail. We made a left until it connected to three other trails. We took the Creek Trail to the left, which will bring you to the Maple Springs trailhead and parking area. To the left is the road that brought us back to the Good Springs Church. The hike was 3.0 miles. Because of the downed trees and a few small streams on the Good Springs Trail it had the most interest on our entire hike. The Dry Prong Trail had a lot of rutted out areas due to horses, while the Creek Trail was nothing more than an access road.

Nice uphill walk. Shortest route is starting from behind the visitors center. Downhill on pavement until reaching the entrance to Mammoth Cave, then uphill on a nice trail to Dixon Cave. Can only get a view from a two level deck overlook.

Great handicap acceess, but I preferred the old trail that allowed one to go to the entrance of sand cave. A great and terrible history of caving happened here and the Story of Floyd Collins is an epic tale.

Great for horses, not so much for hikers. Trail is a trampled muddy mess. Encounterd several groups on horseback.

Short and informative about a local that researched a cave close to a main road with hopes of a tourist attraction. Short trail - only .1 mi, boardwalk.
