This trail is a lot of work and really not that much return in terms of features or views. It is steep and rocky. The settlement at the end is interesting, but you can’t get in to any of the buildings because they remain privately owned. All that being said, the hike is a good workout and there are some remains of old buildings, and also some nice rocks and rock features along the way. And, though we did the hike in winter, I image the area would be a nice hike in summer with the dense hardwood forests and it would likely provide an outstanding color show in the fall.

The trail on the ridge is well marked with amazing views. However, it can be a bit tricky to find the trail down in the valley and the map does not seem to be accurate. On this early December Sunday I did not meet a single soul down in the valley. If you go with your dog, be prepared that you may need to carry them down on the stairs! :)

Good stretch of the legs. AllTrails says 5+ miles but my step counter had 7+. This hike is not strenuous. No steep ups and downs. Just a good hike on one of the more remote trails at Jefferson. Keep your eyes peeled for deer on the connector between Coral Ridge and Holsclaw. Also watch for horse poop!

Should make a loop trail on AllTrails

First time, loved it. Even though leaf covered trees marked well otherwise I might have strayed a time or two.

Great hike and trail overall! We really enjoyed it and the Bernheim Forest is a most go to. The only downfall of the trail was, a tonnnnn of leaves and rocky conditions on the trail. Made some of the passages really slippery and heavy reliance on trail identifiers. Overall though, a good trail and provides a challenge.

wonderful short workout hike with the dog. Fall leaves make a it a little challenging to find the trail and hides trip hazards well. Dog and I both enjoyed the trail.

I would recommend this trail as a everyday explore, nice for all ages, families with children and dogs. There are paved and no paved trails.

This little gem of a trail is worth the drive. The waterfalls are amazing! The rocks at the falls are slipper so watch out.

We did this trail first of December. It was amazing!! There is so much to see. You will see Cumberland Falls from the less busy side as you make your way to Eagle Falls (which will require some rock scrambling down on a beach type area) the falls were absolutely beautiful. Lots of rock formations on this trail. STEPS STEPS STEPS... be prepared, this trail loves STEPS, lol! We also found an abandoned old town when we ventured off trail a bit! Highly recommend this as it has a little bit of everything to see!

Short easy nice walk. Beautiful view. Worth it if your close

This was a great trail for a beautiful fall day. Nice and short 2.3 miles that the five-year-old and 12-year-old loved with the dog.

Dog Friendly. New Trees down. unsafe today for Horses.

nothing much to see. didn't give it a 1 star because it wasn't trashy or poorly marked (just follow the paved path.) I won't do it again though

hiked Thomas Walker and Cumberland Gap Fitness trail which is 4 miles if you start at the Thomas Walker parking lot. I honestly give the Fitness trail three stars because there is a section that is more secluded and you feel like you're actually in the woods. the Thomas Walker Trail just basically follows the road and what everyone else says.

Been avoiding this hike due to the heavy traffic of out of town tags I always see at the trailhead. Finally hiked it and it is one of my favorite hikes. Just a nice hike all together. Combine it with the Pinch-em Tight.

This was a beautiful trail but a bit slippery/muddy. Mostly because the rain yesterday so it was to be expected. However, rain meant the falls were even more active and impressive. The incline coming back in was a little rough simply because of the slickness mixed with the incline. Also the end of the trails were not marked but the trail kept going, keep this in mind to avoid going further than you want. All in all, I recommend this trail if you’re looking for a short getaway.

Very short but interesting info on Floyd Collins

Beautiful sunny day. Enjoyed this trail. Some elevation change, but nothing too strenuous.

Awesome Day Hike. A few scrambles if you aren’t aware. Sights are worth it. Enjoy!

A cute little trail. I went during the winter time after if had snowed and it was a little icy, making it difficult to get up some parts of the trail. It was also so beautiful because it as well. The water was streaming in the background and the view from the top is gorgeous in the snow. Also, you must hike to the waterfall, it is the main reason to go there!
