Good trail. It was covered in leaves, rocky in places.

Beautiful and loved having a view of the lake!

Very pretty walk. Rocky path much of the trail, so wear good shoes. The trail stops a couple of times so you have to clamber up some rocks to continue - not difficult, but something to consider. Would not recommend for most children under 5/6. Signage is pretty much zero. This might be a good Eagle Scout project! Also, I didn't download the trail map before I left & had no connectivity on this trail (AT&T), so ended up looping it a couple of times. I don't have a very good sense of direction and kept missing where I needed to exit. Some nice young hikers came along and got me going in the right direction. Thanks!

We did this trail on a Sunday afternoon. It was our intention to do the whole 3.6 miles but time constraints only allowed us to do the Blue trail. It was a very nice trail. There were a few muddy spots due to the horses but they were easy to walk around. Just a couple of things. Since I had not been here before I did not appreciate how much horse traffic there is. It is substantial. The other thing there is a $5.00 user fee for just driving on the roads. That is no big deal except for the fact I never carry cash. One of the guys with us bought the pass. Next time I will bring the cash. If you live in the area this trail is worth a visit.

The RED and BLUE Camp Trails are series of horse trails managed by the local horse club and within the Hillsdale Lake Sate Park. The trail is well marked and great maps are available on the park website. Marker 8 is just South of the highway and connects to trail segments to the north. Hikers can park at the state park office and hike 0.3 miles along the highway to the marker and start the trail. The eastern leg of this loop from 8 to 9 is mostly open plains and can be muddy with some deep ruts. The western leg of this loop from 9 to 8 is more wooded and rocky. There is a cut through in the middle of the trail if you want to shorten the loop. There are no water crossings in this loop. At marker 9, you can head West and connect to more of the RED trails below the dam. Trail hiked in April of 2018.

We parked, paid 5 bucks, took the red trail, the longest trail, it was not good for hiking at all, quite boring through the pasture . Boring will not come back

Around 24 of us had a nice morning hiking 4 miles on this trail. The trail is relatively flat with mild elevation gain/loss. This trail is an out/back so you will cover the same ground twice.

The trail we hiked is on the west side of the dam (off of Osawatomie Road) where the marina and campgrounds are located. This is not the trails referenced in the initial map.
