The environment is extremely harsh for plants and mushrooms, which is why there’s not much scenic changes between summer and winter. Good thing is almost half of the trees are still alive! So if you are interested in it, be hurry while there’re still some green left.

Was going ride new MTN bike from Rosedale Arch Trailhead. Went around corner to see a rock staircase down to a baby-head rock garden. NO WAY this beginner was riding it. Hiked the trail. Pump track near bottom in severe need of repair. Portions closed/under construction. Terrain resembles the Ozarks, hence the name Rozarks.

Always in great shape as they close them when a drop of water hits and 48 hours after. I wish bikers used bells though, had a few jump scares today.

Great paved trail. Lots of traffic. Be carful about your path as there are many different routes that branch off along the way.

Mountain bikingGreat!

Rode from Ottawa to Richmond and back. Trail is in perfect shape along the distance that I rode it. Pretty good shade in some areas. Mostly flat, straight, and an easy ride.

Nice trail. Two year old was able to go end to end so we’re proud of her. Paved sidewalk the whole way and no problems at all.

Good trail in the arboretum. It costs 3$ to get in but the trails are well maintained and marked. We did the 3.2 mile hike that was a combo of two different trails but the signage was a little difficult to follow. We saw three deer and snake on the trail path so be prepared for wildlife. Overall a great Sunday morning hike.

Great trail to escape the summer heat. It was well shaded and most of the route ran along the lake. Very light traffic when we went on a Saturday. Not many places to sit and rest once you’re deeper in the trail.

The trail is well maintained and offers 3 different loops. There are lots of wildflowers and wildlife to view. It is mostly a prairie hike so bring lots of water and sunscreen.

Smooth fast trail, lots of 3-5 ft ups and downs but no real hills. Lots of fun. Trail was well maintained and the loop is set up so mountain bikers go in clockwise direction, hikers / joggers counterclockwise which prevents crashing into oncoming bike on blind turns. Sufficiently used so there were not a lot of spider webs (as long as you are not the first person of the day I assume!) nearly the whole trail is in the shade which makes it bearable on a hot day like today.

A walking path which is cement actually goes from one parking lot over to another parking lot. You can choose to go off on an equestrian and/or bicycle trails and do an entire loop, or turn around and go back on the cement path the same way you came. There are many trail options you can choose from though. They also have emergency markers all along the way. The cement walking path is mostly a canopy of trees and is beautiful. If you take off on another horse path, you can expect a lot of sun.
