Easy trail. I can see where parts of this would become over grown In the spring and summer time, but It was clear In Nov. lots of deer In the area.

Great trail! We've walked this trail many times in various seasons and always enjoy. There are a lot of rocks, drift wood and tree roots covered by leaves in the fall so just be cautious as you walk.

A nice and fairly easy hike. There are several camping spots along the trail. A couple of areas are a bit tricky to find the trail path because It was flooded with trees.

Watch your feet the whole time you are hiking or running. This trail Is filled with rocks of all sizes along the entire path, and tree roots. We did have a lot of fun hiking this one.

I’d recommend this trail. I’d like it to be longer but it’s a good trail. Good scenery. Relaxing.

My favorite in Kansas so far. Even though it rained off and on in the last few days. There is no mud. Great views. Early Sunday morning not too frequented. My dogs and I will be back for sure.

A blissful eden in the Lawrence abyss. I can’t believe I have put this trail off for so long. It really is beautiful. A lot of secluded moments. Well maintained.

Sections of the inner loop (Blue trail) are flooded out, but the outer section (White trail) were simply lovely. Saw at least a dozen deer and a copperhead! Muddy and rocky in spots, with one section blocked by a large down tree, but otherwise well-maintained, and a great afternoon hike. Good trail for dogs, too!

This trail is very overgrown. While you can walk the trail, this part isn’t worth it.

These trails are extremely over grown so wear long pants when you hike. The fitch field trails were too overgrown to use. I enjoyed these trails especially the paved part from the parking lot to the excellent view of Lawrence.

Trails are still flooded. Yellow (sanders mound) is open. White is partially open. Check my recording for where the trail is flooded and where to begin to avoid flooding.

The lake is up really high and the trail was flooded out more. Only about 1+ miles clockwise and about 0.4 miles counter clockwise were usable this time. We hung in the main campground again to get a nice evening breeze and had a nice time.
