Explore the most popular birding trails near Kansas City with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

I absolutely loved this trail! There’s a variety of trail conditions, 3 foot bridges, and a crumbling limestone structure of some kind. Follow the yellow blazes. Lots of bike traffic, a few runners and I was the lone hiker. I began at the Spillway (beautiful views...think Ozarks) and the trail exits at a shelter with facilities. You can stop here, or turnaround as I did, to get the entire 7.8.

Great wooded area. Clean clear water even in the coves. Very quiet, clean. Plenty of connecting trails to stay busy
