I did not do this trail at my last visit but regarding the park itself - I recommend visiting the website and looking at the different maps to the park to see how they all work together. Creekside Trail does bring you around by the creek but you don't have the best access to the water. If you are taking dogs it may take a little agility to get them down to the water to drink and play. Did the entire South Loop this weekend. Very fun trail, offers different scenery than you usually get in Kansas. There are offshoots to the trail that let you go down to the water. You can also cross 1650th to get to the cave trails via this trail, but it isn't marked well.
