Beautiful trail, just don’t forget the bug spray!

A great trail with some fun views! Very family friendly.

Great hard-surface trail - walking or biking. Parts are flat; parts give you a run for your money with steep hills and switchbacks. Very scenic in most parts.

Great trail, one of my weekly runs. 3.2 miles around the big loop, but doesn’t get boring if your doing multiple laps. The construction that has been going on seems to be completed.

Very rocky but fairly easy. Make sure it is a dry day with no chance of rain. Pretty interesting little place.

Pretty heavily trafficked

I really love this trail as it is very open to walking as well as biking and offers beautiful scenery along every mile you take.

bugs were horrid this time of year. made the trail unworthy due to swarms of flies that followed.

Great area, nice short hike. It could use some better up keep. Besides that, very enjoyable.

Great paved bike trail with parking at the bridge in Water Works Park. When you get into Ashworth Park there is a web of dirt trails for mountain biking and hiking which I would love to explore sometime!

great little trail!

It was a great place to walk and unwind after a busy day of sales. Next time in Dubuque I will walk it again for sure. Nice to be close to the water.

Easy, simple hike.

wildcat cave trail is mis-marked, if you cross the foot bridge and go down the ravine you will be crossing private property and the owner can get very cross. To be safe follow the marker posts up the hill then go several miles south go to the river bottom and walk north until you come to that same ravine as you have been told. You walk east north east up the ravine and the cave is on your right or to your south as you walk. It is really not much of a cave, it starts out about 6 feet tall at the entrance and the closes to nothing in about 4 feet, again, not much of a cave..So, is it really worth upsetting the property owner, please RESPECT PRIVATE PROPERTY

Great trail!! Easy riding on a paved fairly level path and beautiful scenery! The bridge is gorgeous and we liked all of the stops with historical information.

I just walked this trail yesterday with a friend around 8:30pm it was still light out but we had to walk back in the dark it's scary at dark time can barely see who's walking our way I got to my car around 10:40pm I like looking at the the water and wildlife when I'm walking this trail it's calming

Love this trail for walking and bike riding

Good trail, easy to get turned around when you reach the river, especially if you are on the wilderness loop and end up going an extra 2 miles on the northern loop! Peaceful walk with a moderate incline near the river but not too bad. Would recommend bug spray if going during the summer.

Main part of the trail was under construction when we went. We read reviews and completely covered ourselves in deep woods bug spray and were still swarmed! I plan to give it another chance at the end of fall when the bugs are gone

Just a really nice, easy ride. The half of the trail between Slater and Woodward is a better ride than Slater to Ankeny, and not just because of the bridge. It’s just more scenic and more beverage stops if you’re so inclined.

I like to go down to this trail and take pictures of wildlife and nature. It's not very long but has plenty to see if you explore and is a good place to go in any season.

This little Island is a real beauty for our area with different things to see and explore. Wonderful nature habitat but I doubt you would see any deer. It's great for all kinds of ages and you can't get lost. The history is interesting and with the boats and Lock and Dam, there's plenty to see. One of my favorite places to go for solitude and getting back to nature.

Easy walk around the lake on a wide paved path. Dogs on leash, but had fun in the lake.

we walked .18 miles & got to a stream that we had to cross with no bridge. we walked back out. total trip .39 miles. not recommended.

Went right at the fork and that was definitely smart. Great trail, lower portion should be saved for the return. Don't fall and crack your phone screen.

Moderate is pretty accurate once you get closer to Mingo and beyond. Bondurant to that point the trail is very flat and easy.

Great views. Bring bug spray- the mosquitos swarm around walkers and joggers.
