The trail is short but steep. From the lower parking area you begin with a section of metal stairs that are well kept. The path then continues uphill. After a rain the path may be difficult and slick. When you reach the top, a short traverse along a parking area will take you to the paved path that leads to the monument. You then reverse course to return to the parking area.Show more

Starts with a climb then it levels out before descending to a short path along catfish creek. After crossing the road it takes on a prairie feel following the train tracks. Another crossing of the road loops back to the beginning of the trail.Show more

This trail goes uphill for a bit but the views are always worth it. It's one of those trails where you notice something new every time you come back and the trail splits off a few times so you can take a new path to change it up. Left goes uphill to a beautiful Prairie outlook and right takes you to the river. Very family friendly: the highlight for kids is walking in the stream with rain boots. The trail also has interesting limestone formations. The trail crosses over a stream several times, so it is good to have on shoes that can get muddy. Dogs can swim in the river.Show more
