Pretty hike with views of the river and bluffs. of course the waterfall was beautiful! There are a few downed trees over the trail that appear to have been there awhile.

The actual trail has shifted since this was mapped. The original trail is now blocked off and it takes a new, longer route. It eventually joins back into the original route, but you add about half a mile.

Trail itself needs a little bit of maintenance, but it was nice. Gentle ascent/descent throughout. Waterfall was nice.

HikingGreat!

These parks are made up of tons of trails and this app was a bit hard to follow if we wanted to stay on track. Definitely download Trailforks so you don’t get lost, unless that’s what you want. Beautiful park overall, with some steep parts but I’d say it’s pretty worth it. There are also painted rocks hidden around the trails so keep your eyes out for those!

Beautiful! Natural stone on much of the trail. Nice outcroppings of limestone. You can see the river through the trees. It’s not really a waterfall, more like a spring coming out of the limestone and flowing downhill. Still beautiful though, and the water is clear and cold.

Nice trail to a really neat waterfall. To get below the waterfall took a little maneuvering

Not easily labeled, many trails in area. The ICE Cave is off the main road that you walk to. The trails are nice trails, directions just not easy to follow on here. Hiking shoes recommend on some trails like Backbone

Nice hike against Rocky bluffs. Make sure to keep an eye out for Decorah Rocks and record on the Decorah Rocks Facebook page. Great for kids several hundred feet in elevation change.

nice dirt and rock trail with some mountain bikers and several hikers. Beautiful overlook of decorah and pretty much all wooded. It does overlook the trout run River in some areas. Make sure to keep an eye out for painted rocks. If found, pick up take a picture of them, relocate The Rock. And record your findings on the instructions on the back of the Rock.

INCREDIBLE! If you’re athletic enough climb up to where the water comes out of the rocks and then up farther to a little flat spot. Amazing view!!!

"Waterfall" not as expected. Maybe erosion changed things. Several fallen trees over trail at knee to waist height. Some parts of the trail goes over rocky ridged limestone, so wear proper shoes. Photo 1: Unexpected glacial erratic Photo 2: Gnome home? GPS readings wonky

The trek to the falls is very easy. Once you get to the falls there are some areas of challenging terrain if you hike up to the top. So beautiful!

If you’re looking to just go to the cave I wouldn’t recommend taking the trails. You can park your car along the road and go through the road close signs, the cave is halfway between the two road closed signs. The trails were extremely rocky, muddy, and steep next to the roads. Also, the ice cave wasn’t all that, more trouble than it’s worth if you ask me. Also the trail on here isn’t 100% accurate it’s an entire network of trails, so you would be better off looking for the biking trails online of the area for a more accurate layout of all the trails.

This was an excellent hike out to the upper portion of the Malanaphy Fall's. There were quite a few trees down across the trail but were easily navigated. We got there around noon on a Saturday and the small parking lot was full. Stop by Toppling Goliath Brewery while you are in the area! Fire, Skulls & Money!

Today we took a 3.3 mile hike in Van Peenen Park. The trail is heavily traveled by mountain bikes so it is narrow and deep so it can be an ankle breaker. Although we shortened the previously recorded hike by a mile this trail still gave us quite a workout. There is plenty of uphill and plenty of downhill. You definitely want to have your map up and available for reference throughout your hike because through the years mountain bikers have added off shoots all over this trail and you can easily take a turn that will take you off in another direction. We referenced ours throughout the hike and were able to navigate it no problem by following the directional arrow.
