very steep and washed out on the one side. we took the easy way in and doubled back to avoid the washed out part.

Lovely trail. We were here at dusk and saw 3 deer!

Eh..... it’s a flat paved trail. It’s ok

Nice little trail. Paved, very flat, and well kept. It runs a lap around a lake that used to be a quarry, so it's not a boring walk or run. There are lots of benches to stop and rest of you're just starting to get in shape, have health issues, or just aren't as young as you used to be. Most are shaded, if you just want to stop and read a book or something. There's lots to look at. It's great as a bike trail to bring the kids to, but not so much for adults or experienced riders. It's just too flat and too short. It's a nice walk and a great jog, but a very short boring ride - UNLESS you are using it to connect the Cedar Valley Nature Trail, or city streets, to the Sac and Fox trail. As PART OF a longer ride, it's great easy section or start/end point.

Great hard-surface trail - walking or biking. Parts are flat; parts give you a run for your money with steep hills and switchbacks. Very scenic in most parts.

I really love this trail as it is very open to walking as well as biking and offers beautiful scenery along every mile you take.

Great area, nice short hike. It could use some better up keep. Besides that, very enjoyable.

great little trail!

Nice trail, starting point was weird or different, by a corn field, you can park at Creekside Church and walk to the trail. Sunny trail, little shade in spots. I took the routes Iowa School for the Deaf and around the school, which was nice and shady. did 4.26 miles walking, it was really hot.

I just walked this trail yesterday with a friend around 8:30pm it was still light out but we had to walk back in the dark it's scary at dark time can barely see who's walking our way I got to my car around 10:40pm I like looking at the the water and wildlife when I'm walking this trail it's calming

My favorite place to do my long runs! Friendly people. Lots of bicyclists. Well mannered users. There is a port-a-potty at the start and at mile 6. Not sure beyond that. Lots of benches to stop along the way. Love this place!

I like to go down to this trail and take pictures of wildlife and nature. It's not very long but has plenty to see if you explore and is a good place to go in any season.

Nice little trail in the state park. Offers great views along the ridge line. The trail is marked easy, but the first third is more moderate with steep decline and incline until you make your way to the ridge. Along the ridge the trail is rugged and extremely grassy. Watch for ticks, we saw several. The back half of the loop is maintained with gravel and sections of cut grass. That part offers benches spaced along the path. We did the hike in July. Will probably be nice in the fall/early winter as well.

Nice 2 mile loop but not for the faint of heart. It is listed as wheelchair friendly but the only way it would be wheelchair friendly is if your wheelchair were a bulldozer. The beginning of trail is narrow, uneven and very steep down and back up through a ravine which does not give any indication as to what the rest of the trail is like. Very scenic plenty of shaded areas. Looking forward to revisiting in the fall to view the colors.

Actually, my family and I did this trail on rollerblades, though I imagine it would be great for biking. The trail is nice, though hillier than one would expect Iowa to be, and it does not offer much shade coverage. If you go out on a hot day, bring lots of water. The fishery is a really interesting stop as you’re going along—I thought it was neat to see. Afterwards, have a nice meal in the downtown, and even stop by Luther College and take a quick tour about the beautiful campus.

Beautiful prairies, gets noisy with the Interstate being so close.

Quick and easy Highpoint. There is no hike. The area has a nice display with a registry log, info on other highpoints.

Love it did 6 miles

Awesome trails for everyone.

There wasn't a trail. Misleading. This is more of a park and see site.

Little close to the highway for my liking.

This hike out in the random no-where caught me off guard to say the least. I figured it would just be an "alright" hike to stretch my legs after a 3 hour drive to the trailhead. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! Just the right length and had some views over the Midwest that I wasn't expecting. I make sure to mention this little gem to my friends going thru the area.

It’s quiet minus the traffic nearby but loads of birds and a good distance with no real inclines/declines for need an even level path.

Gateway to other local trails.

The eastern trail head begins at the Mormon Handcart park and has several historical markers. Nice paved path.

Short easy walking path. Peaceful prairie surround most of the well maintained cement path. Various signs with interesting facts about the area history and wildlife. I would like to see this path during the spring bloom season.

Nice prairie land and pond. Well paved and little to no elevation change. A nice simple course.
