Great for trail running very well maintained park! I suggest getting a season pass in the begging of summer for $50. Parking is usually $5 per car so be cautious of that!

Nice urban space to go for a run/walk!

Best trail in the park, but it is longer than 5.0, closer to 6.5. Also pay attention because there are some side trails marked red that are like detours. You won’t get lost, but they can confuse you and add a little distance as well. Enjoy

It's not much more than a sidewalk along a stream that gets storm sewer runoff from the nearby neighborhoods. So, kind of dirty. Plus, some of the road crossings are kind of dangerous.

nice trails. very well marked. A little sad the extra loop was still closed. I would say more toward easy with a few moderate areas. Some beautiful birds!

The red trail as marked doesn’t quite match the one posted here. It’s closer to 6.5 miles. Trail markers are better than they used to be depending on direction going. The trail that goes along sand bar in the water is in need of repair. Several areas where you might have to walk through water or over skinny wood planks.

First time on Red Trail. Easy to Moderate. Slight elevation changes. As of post (7/2018), portion was shut down due to construction. Some trail markings were missing. Paper map worked better in questioned areas versus app.

I lived on this trail for 8 years at the 56th St location. Excellent running trail and much of it shaded. I remember there was crime issues at times but never felt unsafe on the trail. Great trail to train for a half or marathon.

Good views of downtown Indy. There are bicycle, kayak, and paddle boat rentals near the fountain as an alternative to walking

Well-maintained and well-trafficked trail that’s best for light hiking or trail running. Definitely would consider this to be more easy than moderate

If you are visiting the city, the canal walk is one of the activities you will not want to miss.

Just a plain neighborhood park.

Pretty busy and noisy at times, but close to home

I live near here so an annual pass is a must! This is a beautiful park 15 minutes from Downtown Indy, though you’d never know you were so close because of the setting! I run this trail often, it’s about 6.5 miles if you complete the loop. You have some slight elevation, run beside a lake, lots of variation. I’d rate it as a very enjoyable somewhat moderate trail. If you’re experienced more of an easy rating. It’s definitely worth your time to visit Eagle Creek Park and the Red Trail is my favorite of all!

Love biking from downtown to broadripple.

Great hiking close to Indy. Nothing rugged, flat trail, nice scenery.

❤️ that u can just run , no one really bothers you.

This trail is currently incomplete. When complete, it will run from the east and west state borders.
The portion I use is mostly in Greenfield. It is 6 miles long. I use it to walk my dogs and bird. It is paved with asphalt and the edges are well maintained. I use a medical scooter and have no trouble navigating the trail.
Once the Sugar Creek portion of the trail is completed, this trail will connect with the Pennsy Trail in Cumberland.
I got confused when completing this. I did rate it a five. The program won't let me merge the rating and review.

This is such a great trail. You can connect into other trails or just follow this one. This is actually about 6.5 miles.

A quiet trail that makes you forget you're right in the city. I like to run this trail. Closer to 6 miles. Almost 7 of you add on the loop by the 71st Street entrance.
