First, this place is huge, I’ve went twice already and still have been everywhere. The trails are not marked very well at all but I enjoy just walking wherever my curiosity leads me and I have a good enough sense of direction that it’s not a problem for me to find my way back. You also get cell signal so you can just mark your car on maps and follow that back if you need the extra help.
I went on a Thursday morning and only saw two other people walking and one biker. I then went on a Saturday morning and holy hell it was busy and there were so many bikers. The trail gets narrow in parts so this makes navigating bikers tricky at times. I wouldn’t go back on a weekend.

This is a beautifully maintained bike trail. It says hikers are welcome on the sign, but the trails are too narrow to allow bicyclists and hikers through at the same time. Bikers had to stop for us to get out of their way. All were extremely nice about it (thanks!) but we felt like we were imposing more than sharing just by being there on foot.

Didn’t see a soul on this well maintained trial which is clearly maintained for bikers but I ran the trail. Not a lot of areas to step aside should the need arise. Well cleared generally but be aware can be very slick in the morning if dew is heavy or within hours of a rain. First third of seven miles in heavily shaded, middle third is meadows ad final third is wooded. I will visit overtime I am back in Indy as time allows. Beats the treadmill at the hotel any day.

beautiful park, but the trails are not marked very well

very nice scenery, clean trails as well!

The red trail as marked doesn’t quite match the one posted here. It’s closer to 6.5 miles. Trail markers are better than they used to be depending on direction going. The trail that goes along sand bar in the water is in need of repair. Several areas where you might have to walk through water or over skinny wood planks.

Amazing trails to run, hike, and take dogs on! Gorgeous views, right near the White River and an amazing playground. 5/5 stars.

This is my favorite trail at this park. I like the way it meanders and undulates. It’s well maintained and marked. I did miss a turn (my fault) and made an unexpected loop a just over two miles in, but I didn’t mind as appreciated the extra distance.

I’m not certain if mountain bikes are allowed, but I was hit by a mountain biker during my hike. I noticed him as he was approaching from about sixty feet behind me. He shouted “Coming through!” at 30 feet away. I wasted no time jumping off the path, but as he was leaning into a turn, his shoulder clipped my shoulder. He didn’t slow down as he approach me and was going way too fast to make a pass. He shouted “My fault!”, but he didn’t even stop to see if I was ok.

I was so shocked at what just happen I didn’t have the words to say anything as we could see each other across from one of the ravines moments later. He wouldn’t look at me.

I wasn’t hurt, but I was pretty upset about the situation as I almost had my six yo daughter come along with me. She decided to stay back last minute as she’s had come down with a cold. I felt what the cyclist did was very reckless, and I’m thankful my daughter wasn’t there as she might have not made it out of the way.

I’m an avid cyclist, I commuted to work by bike for seven years, and support bicycle advocacy groups. I believe mountain bikers should have a place to ride. However, this cyclist was completely reckless. I’m glad I didn’t run into him back at the parking lot as I sure I would’ve said some choice words (not my character).

First time on Red Trail. Easy to Moderate. Slight elevation changes. As of post (7/2018), portion was shut down due to construction. Some trail markings were missing. Paper map worked better in questioned areas versus app.

I enjoyed this trail, in the middle of the day, in mid July. The tree canopy provided lots of shade. The trail moves up, down, left, and right which kept it interesting. The lack of trail markers and use of different coloured flags took away some enjoyment as I wasn’t always sure of where I was. I helped a group of boys find their way as well. Not a safe idea with sketchy trail markers. Note also, this park doesn’t have garbage cans. Your asked to carry all your garbage out. Enjoy.

I lived on this trail for 8 years at the 56th St location. Excellent running trail and much of it shaded. I remember there was crime issues at times but never felt unsafe on the trail. Great trail to train for a half or marathon.

This is a great urban walking and biking trail.

Good, more natural trail in the woods. Nice to have a place to walk that’s not just a paved path!

Great trail with wonderful, woodsy, views. My pregnant wife and I walked at a relatively slow pace and completed it in an hour and a half.

views are beautiful from the top of the lake

Such a gorgeous trail, mostly all in the shade. Nostly for mountain bikes but an awesome hike as well, we loved hiking it!

This is a nice meandering trail. Use caution as it’s a MTB trail too. No benches or pic-nick tables on this trail.

Love the terrain and the trail- I was expecting more bikes but no issues. I was trail running and at some point I missed a sign. But it was a nice easy run.

Muddy trail with many large puddles after it rains, plenty of water wildlife, flat trail

Great trail. Took us approximately 1 hour to complete. Not too busy, but did step off trail to allow bikers to pass by. Would definitely do this trail again to train for trail running.

Good views of downtown Indy. There are bicycle, kayak, and paddle boat rentals near the fountain as an alternative to walking

Well-maintained and well-trafficked trail that’s best for light hiking or trail running. Definitely would consider this to be more easy than moderate

This is the long trail in Fort Harrison. Beautiful trail with loads of trees and wildlife. Little slick in spots after the rain but not too bad

Park was very nice and plan to return for other trails. The orange trail was marked pretty clear, fairly easy, and not busy at all. We did not pass a single person during the entire hike.

Loved it! Very kid friendly!
