So muddy we didn’t even make it 200 yards and we had to turn around. Someone scouted ahead and it was still all mud and water. Might be great during a dry season

Camped out here for a night...beautiful spiders, huge range of insects and daddy longlegs, keep your tent zipped up! August poison Ivy and ticks in abundance, the spiders so thick it's like watching the ground move. Totally overgrown trail with no usage, not many flat spots to camp for over half a mile...with your gear on you. be smart....wait until late fall.

Just don't go! I read the reviews about it being overgrown, not maintained, and the gravel road. It's all true, and it was quite terrible! With repellent on, I still picked 27 ticks off of me (and another four once I got home). That's a bit much for a 6.5 mile hike. If there was anything positive I can say, it was a sunny Sunday afternoon, 90F, and I didn't encounter a single human being during the hike.

Go early or late in the year when vegetation is thinner, youll be disappointed otherwise. Its also not what most people think as a traditional trail. Several neat rocky stream crossings; lots of wildflowers; some interesting rock outcrops and some potentially great views if you go early or late in the year. Fairly easy hiking, gentle up and down hills. The first roughly 1/2 mile of the loop (after entrance trail) was so overgrown the trail barely visible, had to climb over several large trees that were down. Around mile 2 it becomes a well maintained gravel road until you reach the halfway point. The majority of the trail is really more of an ATV/forest access road, some people may not mind, its just not what you expect. In the middle of the summer the vegetation almost completely blocks any views, youll only get a faint glimpse.

The trail was in really good shape for this time of year and the wildlife adds more fun to the trip. There's some ups an downs, but you are rewarded with some nice views and even some cliff faces to explore near the end of the loop. We took the connector trail and my gps showed just under 7 miles back at the parking lot. Lots of fun!

If you can find your way to it, the entrance after the cemetery on Ultimate Road is usually totally unused, and you can climb up from there to reach the split between the East and West loops of the trail. The East trail is obviously the lesser used, and ranged from tree covered forests to meadows and valley ponds. The trail is well-marked and not too overgrown. Parts were washed out a bit when we were there, and there were some treefalls we hand to get over, but we didn't see another soul on the trail all day. Nice hike but be prepared to do some hill-climbing.

Hiked all of Mogan East (including the connector trail) with a group of 11-13 year old Boy Scouts. It was a good trail for them to get a feel for hiking with a backpack. It is a very well maintained and well marked trail with several small grades to go up and down. We also saw several plants that aren't seen often in this area.

Great up and down trail. Trail was in great shape. One drawback is the parts of the trail that follow gravel roads (kinda hard on the feet). Loop was actually over 6 miles according to my gps.

This trail is over grown at places which makes it hard not to get ticks. I hiked this trail with my father who has had symptoms of Lyme disease and waiting for tests to be confirmed. If you hike it take extra precautions!

This trail if it was maintained would be an enjoyable hike. However this was the most overgrown trail I have ever been on and I do not recommend this trail until it is cleared up.

Great leisurely hike through a variety of ecosystems. You basically traverse around a large meadow/wetland walking through different types of forests with the opportunity to explore the grasslands in the middle.
