Fun trail with wildflowers and follows a few creeks. It rained yesterday and the trail was extremely slippery/muddy in the majority of areas. Recommend wearing hiking boots with good grip.

Short and sweet. A couple of slippery spots since it was rainy. We took a 2 & 4 year old with no problems. Saw some mushrooms, frogs, and there is an overlook half way through. Unfortunately it does not connect to 14 mile creek do to an extremely steep drop from it.

The beginning and midpoint were about the only decent parts of this trail in my opinion. Other than that you’re walking under power lines or on a paved road.

Trail 4 featured several creeks (small) and large which flow into Ohio River. Actual trail terrain, ravine, and creek rapids reminded me of Smokies area a bit with rain the night and morning before. The scenery was excellent and included critters, multiple turtles, squirrels, and deer. The path is smooth and easy to navigate even after rain so surprisingly not so sloppy. Hard find any negatives.

Very steep paved path on one side of the loop. Gorgeous wildflowers throughout and you follow a stream for a while.

Awesome chance to see something you don’t see every

beautiful trail, hiked with my 4 kids 7 and under.

Nice trail and light traffic on a Sunday afternoon. I liked the side trails where you felt a bit secluded and could just enjoy the view. It was a bit buggy and muggy since it’s by the water. The beginning has a lot of rocks and I suggest sturdy close toed shoes with a decent grip.

Very good views. It has a good elevation. I went out with with my cousins for a casual hike and this is just perfect. It is a moderate trail and took us around 50 minutes to complete it

Slightly longer than the other trails at Charlestown State Park. The trail can get quite muddy and slippery after a rain.

Like the other trails here, it is well marked and very easy to follow. Probably impossible to get lost. At the loop, I went to the left, which is a longer, more gradual dissent down to the valley, but a much deeper shorter ascent back to the ridge. The rock Creek that parallels the trail on the northern side is very scenic. Worth getting off trail to check it out

I completed this trail as part of a Continuous 13-mile circuit, Traveling east word from B trail six parking lot. Trail 6>cross country along river’s edge for a mile>up the bluff (NOT RECOMMENDED)>along the ridge for a mile (NO TRAIL, bushwhack entire way)>tied in w/ Trail 7 (Rose Island)> Trail 3>Trail>4>west along river bank back to Trail 6 All of the trails were in very good shape, and very easy to follow. Would be a good place for beginners. Some good scenery, nice rock-bottom creeks, cascades, small waterfalls

very much enjoyed trail 4 on April 10, 2020. narrow trails lead out to open woodland with water views and many opportunities to interact with the creek

Great trial. Great view of Fourteen mile Creek towards halfway through. Very shaded so you stay cool!

This trail connects to the camping area, so good trail for those camping. Similar Forest that all the trails here display, view of the river is best with less leaves. If you are camping and it has rained, a quick check of the creek level before and after rain would be cool, it floods quickly towards the lookout point on the trail.

Probably the longest trail at the park, most trails are pretty comparable as far as difficulty and reward. The main feature of this one is the opened up section of the woods and the views of 14 mile creek.

First time visitors to the park and this trail. 2 adults and 2 kids 11 and 13 w our dog. Perfect weather for a hike today. Not too many others on the trail which was great. Nice change of elevation and lots of things to stop and enjoy... waterfalls, rock formations, etc. At one point on the trail a large tree had fallen across the path but we were able to get around it through the woods. Overall great first experience on trail head 6!
