Nice trail full of squirrel and frog action. The small jog to see the lake needs some work on the bridge. Passable but wobbly where sections have come apart from each other. Did not see another person here so nice and quiet. Definitely would come again the next time I come to Pokagon.

would have liked to give this another start, but the horrible trail markers take it down a star. a closed section by the spring with no detour posted (putting in steps is only reason for closure). no signs when you come out to beach area where to go. $9.00 entrance fee a bit steep, but not unreasonable. trail itself is well graded. spots by swamps were very buggy. Fix the signs, and will get higher rating

Great hike! Better markings would be nice- I rarely knew which trail I was actually on. I enjoyed wandering but definitely worried about getting lost.

So much horse manure on the trail.

Love this place

Keep an eye out for ticks and bring plenty of sunscreen and water if you continue onto Trails 7 & 8 because not much of it is shaded. At first I thought the trails were well marked but I referenced my AllTrails map frequently and did make a wrong turn at the very beginning. You also cross the road a couple times so be aware of road traffic.

I did this trail back in February. There had been a decent snowfall (5inches) a few days before. It was my first winter hike in ages. Ending that with a toboggan ride after the hike was definitely worth it too.

Great for a longer hike. I enjoyed having varying scenery as it goes through the woods, lightly rolling prairie hills, and marshland.

Meadows edge trail. Short peaceful limited shade trail. Easy.

Great trail. marked well.

I’ve hiked these trails a few times over the years, and they’re nice wide well maintained paths through the woods. My favorite is the Bluebird Hills Trail, which is actually Trail # 7. It goes out into some hilly grassy meadows surrounding a lake. The lake is a bit stagnant perhaps but interesting nonetheless, and there’s a bench on each end of the lake where you can sit and look down on it. Today there were swans. The one thing I’d like to see the park do is put a sign pointing to “Hell’s Point” at the intersection of 3, ,9, and 8. Today we took the wrong path and had to backtrack to get to Hell’s point,

Nicely groomed and it can be done pretty easily. I would not rate it as moderate, probably easy! I also picked one tick off of me and three off of my dog so far and we did it about 3 hours ago.

Hells Point challenge. Great trail full of elevation changes. Beautiful scenery. Trail a little tricky from the fall leaves hiding tree roots and rocks.

My wife and I hiked the Hell's Point Challenge. The snow varied in depth from 4"" to 12" on the trail due to drifting. The temperature was 18° and it was very windy. The scenery was fantastic with deer and squirrels and great views through the woods. The difficult part was trying to follow the trail. The hike took twice as long due to long searches for the correct direction to follow.

I did 3 to 9 from the Inn. Lots of slippery boardwalk. Went to the tollway site of old motel old CCC project muddy loud tollway got some exercise!! Blowdowns are moved. Definitely not a “rugged” trail.

My 5yo and I loved this trail! It was fun figuring the trails out since there were many loops that lead back to certain trails. There were only a few small trees crossing the path but we like having obstacles every now and then so weren’t bothered at all. Beautiful stream running through. The only thing I guess I could complain about was I wasn’t really sure where I was supposed to park but it was also snowy so maybe it’s marked out on the ground and we just couldn’t see from the snow.

It is a great hike, nice scenery, we liked trail 9. We did the park’s ‘hell’s point challenge’, (8.2 miles) but get a map at park as this map does not follow it. Trails needs to download updated map - the park closed the trail by snow lake. Using this Trails map helps as far as seeing where you are. We recommend doing the challenge at this time of year (February) as it gives good views of the land

overall a nice hike through forest, bog land, and some prairie. the trail was mostly frozen so no mud at all. wildlife sightings included a few cardinals and two deer. the deer were very skiddish and scampered off as soon as they heard sound.

Very nicely marked and maintained set of trails. A couple of larger blowdowns on Trail 9. The park calls trail 9 “rugged” but I thought it was very moderate.

Plenty of elevation changes for a little bit of a challenge. Well marked. Beautiful scenery!
