good short trail, markings were misleading.

Great place to workout, the stairs proved to be quite a challenge for me, as it’s been quite a while since I last did any king of exercise. Completed a 3-4 mile hike on the rocky trail that was quite pleasant and provided enough elevation to get my heart pumping. Overall great place, clean and plenty of parking.

Scenery is nice and relaxing specially if you go there for a run. More than enough space and paved trail is even and newish with no hazards that may result in unexpected injuries like other trails.

Great trail for hiking. Single file for much of the trail and lots of mountain bikers. They are courteous but hikers need to also be paying attention as trail winds and there can be blind spots. :) Lots of ups and downs and roots and rocks. Mostly shaded.

Half shade half sun. On the easy side of moderate. Wide crushed gravel trail. Looks like it would not get too muddy.

Very nice little trail mostly shaded throughout, room my dog here for a quick little day hike after the rain all day yesterday and it still wasn’t too muddy at all!

This is a fun trail, but the segment of the loop that is off the ‘official’ trail (the ‘right’ half) is very overgrown and hard to follow in places. There are sections where you are walking through waist-high grass with only a slight trail to follow. The trail branches off in many places; the easiest way of telling which way to go is to constantly check your location on AllTrails. Wear long pants because you will get scratched. The topography is nice by Illinois standards, and you pass by a few marshy areas with a lot of flora and fauna.

Good for road biking.

Great scenery and nice hike. Little bit of a workout but beautiful nonetheless.

Beautiful, but very manicured. Excellent to escape city-life. Swans, butterflies, etc. Would like to see more water-flow, some areas stagnant when lake is low. Excellent in winter.

Cute. About as much elevation you're going to get out here in Illinois. Well-kept and maintained visitor center at base. Some peaceful forest glen trail scenery.

Great Wednesday day hike/walk with my small dog today. Not muddy. Easy to follow trail. I walked counter clockwise. I enjoyed all the native blooming plants and flowers as well as Bommerang Slough at the end. I’ll be back in the fall or sooner!

Great easy trail! If you take stairs to the top be sure to follow the yellow trail when it splits unless you want to go farther than the 4.2 miles.

Really nice and easy trail I enjoy doing with my dog on a nice day. Some parts are pretty muddy due to all the rain we’ve been having, but overall it isn’t bad at all.

Not a bad trail from the looks of things, if you want a back country trail feeling this is perfect for you. NOTE: As of June 6th, 2019 trail is impassible, around 2.5 miles in yellow trail is completely impassible 1/4 to 1/2 mile of fallen trees and trail completely disappears.

Nice walk past a large meadow and through woods . Not a lot of people, especially off the main trail. Only downside was a lot of trees had fallen and were blocking the side trails. Bushwhacked off trail around a couple of them but then turned around because I had a lot more side trail to go and I didn’t know how many more I’d have to deal with. Couldn’t risk it with t-storms coming. Heard people may deliberately block the trails to prevent bikes. Hope not!

Trail was pretty muddy in many areas after significant rain fall from recent storms. Although I did not head to east loop, another hiker informed me that the underpass at LaGrange Road was under water. Any fallen trees that covered the trail have been removed. I do hike both the east and west sides of the yellow retail. I do prefer the east loop with a couple of nice creek crossings. However, the west loop is a nice hike with decent scenery.

Ate sadwhch 1 hour before. 70 degrees and sunny.

We weren’t able to go all the way around as the trail was closed off Harlem and had to come back around. Beautiful scenery and not many people on trail, but it was chilly today.

A nice loop with easy parking for our Cub Scout Den. There’s some nice topography to see, a stream, a lake... a little bit of local everything. Easy to knock out in less than 2hrs (kid speed).
