Enjoyable open trail, few trees and little shade, well maintained trail!

Its a great place to go Roller Blading! Trail is alway paved nicely and always clean of debris.

This is a very kid friendly trail. They have a Nature center and a nice playground for the little ones, and the trails are easy enough for kids of all ages. Nice scenery as a good part of the trail follows the Dupage River. There are signs all over the park that discuss the history of the land. Only complaint I have is the trails are not that well marked.

One of my favorite places to ride

Trail condition was excellent as was the weather. I’ll do this trail again for certain.

I love all the dirt trails.

Nice for running and light dog walks

A great hike for a beautiful winter day. Trails go through both open mildly hilly woodlands and flatter prairie-ish areas. Trails nicely groomed for cross-country skiing.

Great place to ride a bike or walk!

Nice 5.5 mile hike on a chilly autumn day. Very easy walk with no rolling terrain or elevation changes. In the summer it's probably hot with no protection from the sun. Lots of street noise as well.

Not very removed from car traffic and hustle and bustle. That makes it a convenient location but not very remote. Nice river views. The hike is easy - trail is tricky to follow - there are a lot of possible paths to take - none are clearly marked. The record feature on alltrails helped us stay close to the trail. Very easy for us with 2 children (7 & 9).

Quiet and peaceful walk through the woods. Except for the doe and her fawn there was very little traffic on the trail for a beautiful 82 degree day in July.

Very good for biking

Paved trail very good for walking, running or biking, easy enough for just about anyone, with very little elevation change. The entire Dupage river trail is generally very nice, heavily trafficked and well suited for short and medium distance activities. Some wildlife, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Like other hikers have said, most of this trail is in the sun so can become unpleasant on very hot no breeze days. This trail says easy but it has more than a few elevations, one that you can visually see as you approach. This loop registered at 4 miles on my tracker. I will definitely walk this trail again but on a much cooler day.

Very nice walking dirt trail that was mostly wooded. Nice scenery and not very crowded. Stay off the Dupage trail, paved trail heavy with bikers. Wear bug spray in summer. Overall, will be back again

Great place. Lotsa parking with a nice walking path and hiking areas as well as Disc Golf. It's a smaller trail but there's lots of paths in the woods so you can get a few extra steps in your walk.

Definitely go right from the bridge if you're heading from the parking lot. The opposite way is a short trail next to homes. Good mix of dirt and paved trails. Great for bikers for sure.

Hiked in the snow. As a Floridian it was fantastic!

We were hiking with my son's cub scouts troop. It's not too far from Lisle. There's a beautiful nature center building with kids activities inside and beautiful views.

The trail has great views as well. Views of water, a tiny but wide waterfall, and a big, water mill (at the time the mill was out of commission).

The trail had an easy path, no long grasses or anything like that.

I'd go again.

Easy paved trail around Whalon Lake. Actually part of the DuPage River Trail (a large trail system running through this area). This loop is perfect for biking and walking with its wide paved trail with lane markings. The park is dog friendly (even has a park section specific for letting your dogs play). Dogs on leashes are allowed on the trail as well. With the abundance of water and wild flowers/grass in the area there are some bugs but that is to be expected. Just come prepared. No cover. Park has a boat ramp for loading your boat into the lake for fishing and a very nice shore fishing zone. Well maintained.

After coming back from the Pacific Northwest, I've been looking for a decent trail near lisle. This one fits the bill. Easy to get to, different path options. Is dog friendly (on leash only). There are a lot of bikers on the main track but smaller grass and soil paths throughout which make you feel far from the city. Don't go after a rain on those though, can be a bit muddy.

Paved Trail. Beautiful lake that's reasonably busy, especially on weekends. Boat ramp available. If going for a run, i parked at Hidden lake... it's that offshoot trail to the southeast. A beautiful area to start from, you get to it off Boughton Rd. Has nice bridge across dupage river, then you're onto the loop. Hidden lake should get ya there, or google map hidden oaks or Trout farm park. There all right next to eachother

Loved it, Packed! with birds singing and chirping :). About 1/2 of the trail is in the open/in the sun. The trail map will show the trail as green, the trail markers are actually yellow tho.. maybe just really faded. The 'scenic overlook' (aka old landfill) in only open to go up Sat/Sun 11-6. So i'll have to make another trip for that view. Not to upset about that.

Beautiful place. trails range from mowed paths to some dirt to crushed stone, even paved 1 small part. There's a dam in the south and beautiful trails throughout. If you make it all the way down to the dam (like i did). If you keep going, you will end up out on Raymond Dr. Sidewalk on the east side of the street and it's a not so naturey walk back to the car, lol... still had a great time.

The East side of Greene St. Was great. The main trail on the West side of Greene had 3 inches of fresh crushed limestone THAT WAS ALL POWDER. IMPOSSIBLE TO BIKE. Go elsewhere for biking.

Liked this a lot! Took my dog along as well, lots of mosquitos in the heavily forested areas but not bad once it becomes more open! Definitely bring bug spray.

This trail system is a gem. There are paved, dirt single track, and grass & gravel double track. Not much in terms of elevation, but loads of fun. The single track is flowing and fast. The single track can stay muddy, so, on those days, its great to have the grass trails and double track. Lots of deer and hikers!

Well maintained trail. There are two main loops, one very wooded and one out in the open. There are several options to create the distance you want to travel. It is a very flat trail. For a portion of the year, hiking to the top of a large hill provides great views.
