Nice trail. Ford's were flooded so were unable to hike some parts. Very clean and beautiful. not very crowed thus time if year. Favorite so far in this area. had lunch at lodge. Food was good. service so so. we would return. We did encounter a group with 6 off leash dogs.

A fun place for a day of hiking within two hours of Chicago suburbs. The series of trails provide some up and downs and beautiful creek views (particularly Sleepy Hollow trail which includes several water crossings) and a protected Eastern White Pine forest (Grey Squirrel and Red Squirrel trails). Reward yourself after your day of hiking with a meal in the historic (built by the CCC in the 1930s) lodge restaurant.

Great park for a day of hiking !
“Orange” trial is challenging but fun to hike.

White Pines has many trails with varied scenery. My favorite was the Sleepy Hollow trail, some good elevation and follows a stream for a bit.

The Sleepy Hollow loop was our favorite. The trails are very well marked. Nice scenery.

This is the best i could do trying to draw the multiple trails in here. It's an amazing place and one of the best i've been to all year. When the foot paths cross the river there is option fords across or you can take bridges. There are some hard trails in here with lots of stairs and inclines, but many easy trails also. They have campgrounds, cabins, giftshop, a banquet hall that had a small stage for whatever it is they do there, a small restaurant, places to just sit outside under some shade, horse rides and events... all kinds of extras. Also as you drive thru the western part of the park the road goes through the creek and you actually drive thru like 6 inches of water, kinda cool touch.
