I was so proud of myself for doing this entire walk! I started where All Trails says the finish is (the south shore end). I’m glad I started there because it’s a sketchy neighborhood and am glad I didn’t end up there at night. I took the redline to the Metra to get to the start. A guy followed me for a couple blocks and there was no one else around. But then I lost him and found the start of the trail and everything went better from there. It is a beautiful and long walk. There gorgeous views of Chicago along the way... There are plenty of bathrooms along the way but they were ALL CLOSED for the season. So I had to find places to pee and then after about 4 hours I decided to go and walk up Broadway instead of the Lake path so I could duck into a Starbucks if I needed to along with the way... I do recommend doing it if you have a free day!!

It's a great trail I've used many times, but it can be quite busy and traffic noise is more noticeable than I like.

Short trail, lovely viewings.

Lovely park. We saw 3 deer and countless butterflies. In the middle of the city. Who knew?

This is urban hiking - use the stairs and ramps on the Riverwalk to train for more traditional hiking. Dogs allowed, open until 10pm and lots of interesting sights on the river. Also, if you’re looking for lunch, a snack or dinner, there’s plenty of places to choose from along the street level.

Keeps getting better with new landscaping and additions. Good way to loop the city from the west to the east and back.

Great place for a stroll in Chinatown. Fishing is available and kayaks can be rented

Peaceful walk/hike in the middle of northern Chicago...even has a lake for fishing

Fun walk around the Wrigleyville area. Fun to see the stadium.

Pretty path along the lakefront with nice views of the lake and the city.

Great views on busy trail

Full length of the riverwalk is now completed, from the Confluence to the Lake Shore Drive bike path. Incorporations of restaurants, river activities, and landscaping is now fully underwary. Takes about an hour to briskly walk the entire length and back.

Last run on the lakefront during my time living here. The best. Super thankful.

Long trail with great views of the city. The lake front path is crowded but we just walked on the grass most of the way. Also you can stop along the way and take in the views and even have a drink! -All in all....Great workout!

If you are a road cyclist who has the technical skill to avoid pedestrians/rabid free-ranging toddlers, joggers, tourists, crossing vehicles, and potholes, you’ll enjoy this frogger of a road trail. If you aren’t so adept, consider riding either the northerly 8 miles or the southernly 10 only. The middle is busiest, centered around Grand Ave/Navy Pier., especially on weekends 9-5.

I walk it several times a month. I Always notice something new. It's one of the many pleasures of living in a WALKING city..
