Awesome trail!! This trail has a little something for every hiker. This trail can be easy to moderate depending on what path you take. We did the loop around the lake and thought it was perfect! Great views!

also great for horse riding.

This trail has been expanded to more then double the length in 2017. Should noted that horses are allowed too. It can entered off Jericho Rd or Granart Rd

It's a nice hike, I guesstimate the path is two thirds shaded. I disagree with the label "moderate", this is an easy hike and the hill on the northwest side can be avoided. Rated 3 stars because of the mosquitoes and it is muddy for days after rain. Sometimes I see people with stand up paddle boards and kayaks in the lake (be prepared to carry them from the parking lot to the launch area) - I personally have not done this but it's worth the mention.

very nice place to run with dog

Nice views by lake. Pretty muddy if it's rained recently.

Came here and did some hiking and fishing . Beautiful preserve. The lake is deep with some nice places to Fish. Saw eagles flying over the trees soaring and gliding. It's a hidden gem.

Nice quiet spot without much traffic in the winter months. Has some small hills and valleys to give you a few short moments of climbing.

I camped at Big Rock Campground (just north of this) and there is a 1.3 mile trail that connects to this trail. Campground and trails were average. Siegler lake is a beautiful catch/release lake, saw many bass/panfish.. and a big ol' carp. The trail around it was labeled as 'gravel' - it's about 15% gravel, 60% dirt, and 25% grass. The offshoot trail up the hill is barley mowed overgrown atv tracks. Trail to the campground is basic crushed limestone. West Savanna Trail is a bit overgrown for a mowed path. 2 pieces of wood from the bundle of wood i bought were half burnt already, lol. As a whole it was an ok camping experience and ok trails. I'll upload a pic of the map they had at the campground.

Nice short trail for northern Illinois. Pleasant and a little wild. Walked it in spring and enjoyed tracking down the song of frogs.

Refreshing to find this little park amongst all the fields. Some limestone trails, but there are several stretches of mown grass for those that like a bit more variation in their run...not to mention softer foot falls. Looking forward to exploring more of the area soon.

Lots of coyote / dog droppings along the crushed limestone areas of the trail, near the parking lot. I would rate it higher if I hadn't hiked it when it was 93 F.
